I managed to extract them, edit and pack them back, but in the game nothing is changing at all. Can you please contact me on this matter, I beg you! You are my only hope left.

Lightning Returns Retranslation - Another teaser showing off the retranslated version of the game, this time with a scene from before you fight Snow. I actually will say the localized version of this scene wasn’t too bad and at least managed to capture the right emotional tone, but hey, its fun to see the original version too.
Lightning Returns Retranslation - Encounter with Bhunivelze
Well, here’s another scene, this one is one of the worst translated segments of the original game. Translate credits are a bit spread out, with primary credit going to @tensai-shoujo, and Alfheirin, though Black Sword also contributed during English cleanup. We also included some verbiage improvements @shadowmeowth made in the original video of this scene. Unlike the video released previously though by @shadowmeowth , this version separates the concept of heart and soul. This is personally one of the scenes that ticks me off the most in the localized version, so I’m glad to see this one finished.
Notably this is the first scene that isn’t merely in progress - this is effectively “complete” from a translation standpoint - its gone through translation, review, English cleanup, and technical patchup teams (with shiny italics for Bhuni). As such, this is definitely the closest video to what I plan to have in game, and therefore the video I’m the most proud of so far. For those who actually care about the technical details of our little project, nametag insertion now works, both in quests and in cutscenes, marking the final major technical issue that needed working out. The rest is just translation now, though I am trying to work out italics, but I won’t be terribly fussed if I can’t get that thing working. Don’t know what this is? Hey there, Final Fantasy XIII fans! As a few people asked me for a place to discuss FFXIII and its related games, I built a forum for us to do anything from post fanfic, fanart, or just whine about what a douche Barthandelus is.
I also tend to post about our LR retranslation project there, so if you’re interested in following updates on there, or wondering how you can help out, that’s the place to do it. If there’s anything you want added, or think should be there, let me know and I’ll gladly consider it.
This is...really (really) rough, but its the first time I succeeded (after many failures) inserting quest dialogue (which is basically all NPC dialogue). I failed to get the name-display working, but overall its a success (The # marks followed by Inquisitor nametags are me getting frustrated after multiple failures and not cleaning up as well after the name-display). There is 0.00 lore to be learned here, this is a minor quest with only minor dialogue tweaks during localization. Pay of no mind. The only dialogue that’s actually been changed is the Inquisitors, the surrounding NPC’s and Hope (and Light) are still operating on the original localized dialogue, this is just a test of the last technical insertion hurdle I hadn’t confirmed was feasible. Translate credit to @cabbage-foam , who wished to convey rage at the Inquisitor for talking too much (very little of his yap is featured here in the video).

If ever there was proof that machine translation is not suitable for serious work, this is it.
Yeah, so this worked, for the most part. Need to touch up the scripts, but at this point its definitely technically feasible. Still need translators though, for somewhat obvious reasons.
Progress on LR Retranslation Effort
So, as I mentioned last post ( https://thegrudgeytonberry.tumblr.com/post/156771623882/lightning-returns-retranslation-progress ), I’ve successfully pulled the game’s script for the most part. All quests and cutscenes have been pulled. I still have to set up the community translation area, but for the most part, everything looks solid on the technical side.
I guess this is the part where I start begging for more translators. Lets do that.
Please help, gais. Anyone who can help translating the original Japanese to English, please reach out to me - I can use all of the help. There’s a lot here to churn through with all the quests.
