Notice: Where I’ve been, and what’s going to happen.
It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I have been gone for a long time, and to be honest, I wasn’t expecting to. As I stated before I left, I was having problems with internet stability, and although it’s not entirely fixed, it’s been stable enough for a while. But, what I planned to be only a few weeks became a few months, and to be honest, I’ve been thinking…
Since leaving Tumblr due to technical difficulties, I’ve noticed that I have almost zero motivation to return. Now, I’m not saying I’m going to be deleting my blogs and leaving for good, but, I’m still not sure I’m going to be returning to Tumblr again for a while.
So, you may be asking what’s going on. Why am I just leaving this message saying I’m going on a hiatus. Well, it’s for several reasons. The first is Tumblr itself. At the time I left, it seems like the RP community was starting to dry up. People coming and leaving is normal, but it just seemed like people were just not really into RPs just to have fun these days. People now seem to only RP only with people they choose with (and I mean even more super picky than usual, like only 2 or 3 people at all), or the only RPs they want are smut and porn. In fact, it seems the only requests for RPs I ever got were smut related for my Carmilla blog (and sometimes blogs that I CLEARLY have labeled as NO SMUT BLOGS). And to be honest, RPs didn’t feel fun anymore. They felt forced.
Not only that, Tumblr itself is feeling half assed these days. Every time they add a new feature, it’s either something that requires us to relearn things, makes things worse, doesn’t work like it’s supposed to, they take away something we used for a long time, or just breaks the site entirely (in fact, I’m experiencing problems trying to type this). Not only that, there seems to be an alarming increase in spam and bot accounts on here. I get two or three new follower notices every week with blogs that are clearly suspect, and it just seems to keep getting worse.
As for my other reasons, I have been working on a lot of stuff these days too. I’ve just established a new account on Fur Affinity, and have been working on a lot of pictures these days. Not just for that, but also for my Picarto streaming channel. Granted, I haven’t streamed a lot yet personally (again, see my earlier post about internet stability), but I have been participating in other streams, and I socialize a lot there. And, as you saw on my March 14th post, I’m also working on making more content for my Youtube channel. Mostly unboxing, review, and let’s build videos, but I want to give my channel some regular content. So as you can see, I’ve been quite busy.
Finally, I’ve just been burnt out on RPs, and the juggling of so many characters (a lot that are unused) has made it that I’m just out of any creative spark for RPs at all.
Again, I am not deleting my accounts. I do want to return. But at this time, I really don’t feel like RPs anymore. And when I do return, I will be overhauling all of my blogs. Some blogs may have characters removed, characters added, re-purposed, or just outright deleted (that Pizza Cats RP blog that hasn’t been used in who knows how long is more than likely getting the axe). Might separate my personal posts and artworks into it’s own blog, and might even make a game development blog for my RPG Maker project.
Anyway, I’m not sure how many of the people I interacted with are still around, or even reading this, but I hope you understand.
~Thanks for all the fish
