Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba - 3.5/5 ⭐️

I didn’t realise this was a sequel until 10 mins in & they showed flashbacks & I was like wait, didn’t I watch this part before.

The first move (Haseen Dillruba) follows a couple who get away with the murder of the women’s ex-lover by faking the husband’s death.

In this movie, set 2 months after the events of the first movie, Rani (Taapsee Pannu) and Rishu (Vikrant Massey) are in Agra, living separate lives with the aim to flee to Thailand.

Rani is pursued by Abhimanyu (Sunny Kaushal) her landlord’s physician, while Rishu by his landlady Poonam; though both stay true to their partner.

The cast bring it their all especially Taapsee and Sunny. Vikrant however doesn’t get much material to shine in this sequel compared to the first movie. One thing that could have been better was the screenplay which felt lacking in some parts; not bringing the adrenaline rush we were looking foward from the first movie.

Nonetheless, Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba is a great watch, with the climax being equal parts expected and unexpected.
