Luffy has no clue Ace has all these issues about the validity of his existence, and I love how simple he makes it. He's confused Ace is even asking these questions because to him it's self-evident.

Throughout the series Luffy very rarely sets out with the plan to change the world around him, but everywhere he goes is left with the indelible mark of his presence, and he does it by virtue of being his authentic self.

I just want to mention that in this little flashback section alone it is seen and/or mentioned that Luffy nearly gets eaten by alligators, tigers, wolves, buzzards, piranhas, and giant poisonous snakes just in the walk between Mt Corvo and Gray Terminal. That's like Grand Line levels of lethal animal concentration, to say nothing of the giant sea monsters shown at the end of chapter one swimming around the coast.

For an East Blue location, Dawn Island is hardcore.
