“Oh– fuck off!” Lottie sighed heavily. running her hands through her hair. “What the hell do you mean you can’t help me? This man killed my sister! He killed my sister and he’s about to go free, be in some mental ward because he’d pleaded insanity?! I’ll plead damn insanity in a minute!” Lottie had poured so much money in to this, to get some sot of revenge for her sister. “You’re a lawyer isn’t there something you can do!?” she stood, pacing back and fourth. She’d been keeping it together as the months went on just.. now she was breaking, anger showing more and more by how tense her body was.
Even as the youngest child in the family, Ferdinand had always been supportive and at times even protective of his sisters and especially Leila called him for help more than once, but never before had she asked for help for a friend, especially not in a field he had barely any experience with. When his sister sent him the files, he went through them, attempting to stay as objective as anyone could be considering the brutality of the crime, yet everything was correct. There were multiple professional psychological profiles, some paid for by the defendant, some paid for by the attorney Leila’s friend Lottie paid for, but they all lead to the same conclusion. They all gave the suspect a stultification and now he had to explain to Miss Wells that there were no more options she had. “All these profiles are written by experts in their fields and since they all came to the same conclusion, there isn’t room for different interpretations. As hard as it to accept that, it is a truth, not even the fanciest attorney could alter and it would be best for you to let it go. This man will be locked up for the rest of his days. I don’t think that the place matters that much, do you?”

High school wasn’t the best time for him. He was awkward, he got bullied, and after his mom was gone, constantly depressed. All that to say, he wasn’t expecting his newest client to be a former classmate. He’s changed a lot since then, but nostalgia washed over him nonetheless. “Been awhile.” Tristan said with a slight smile. “How have you been? You must be doing well if you need and can afford a bodyguard.”
“Oh brilliant...my watchdog’s here”, she growled, knowing that every other person who worked in the institute knew that politeness was not working on her. She was always pissed when people interrupted her working, knocking didn’t make it better, so people who knew her skipped those pleasantries. “What about ‘I don’t want anyone to follow me around like a puppy’ was so hard to understand?”, she growled, looking up from the paperwork she had worked on, eyes wandering over the man in front, recognizing familiar features without being able to pinpoint it down and his words weren’t helping her either, but the lack of uniform told her, that he was not the protection she had been offered. So she wasn’t even worth officers. They brought in a freelancer to babysit her. That indeed made her day.
“I am not paying you, the city of London does. For them, it’s probably the best insurance they can get for a permanently endangered asset like me. I hope they pay you well, considering the mafia put a bounty on my head, the paycheck is better worth risking your life for...”, she stated, getting up from her chair and walking around her large, wooden desk, sitting down on the top before her eyes fixated him again, still trying to figure out where she had met him before.

“Please…listen to me I-” She was going to continue when he kept talking, and it was clear he was getting upset. She didn’t like confrontation, especially when it was in such a public place. “It’s not that I just don’t trust you. I do! You just…you don’t understand what it’s like to be me okay? I’m the little quiet girl, the little bookworm from high school. The last girl a guy would pick, especially someone as handsome as you. You go for girls like them. Ones who fluff up at her man acting all protective and macho and flirting with you and making out and not caring at all. The way they talk and make it so clear they are there the second you want to drop me. I just…” She closed her eyes, her hands trembling a little.
“Of course I act protective of you. You are my girl. What else am I supposed to be?”, he asked, his voice slowly turning into a low growl, feeling how the anger in his heart was taking over and so he slammed his fist against the wall next to him, feeling the rush of pain pulsating through his knuckles. “Fuck would you please stop this bullshit! I chose you because of who you are. You are smart and kind and intelligent, but you are also hot and if I wouldn’t be doubting your consent right now I’d bend you over the hood of my car and fuck that nonsense out of your brain”, he said, walking closer to her, resting his hands on her cheeks to make her look into his eyes.
“If I would want any of those girls, I wouldn’t have chosen you. If any of these girls would matter to me in any shape or form, I wouldn’t be standing here and arguing. I would be in there getting drunk and fucking one or two of those girls in the restroom before settling for one to take home with me, but I am here, so please stop questioning your qualities and my intent and just let us have some fun”

Walking into the room Thomas let out a sigh and smiled lightly at the other. “Hey now, what did I tell you about getting up yet? You just had a little accident, I am the doctor and I know what is best for you at this moment.” he said and then helped them getting back to bed. “Please, I promise I will get you a laptop or tv in here.”
When Rhena’s lids fluttered the light was blinding her and a scent of disinfectant wavering through the room, the familiar noise of a busy hospital buzzing in the background, bringing back the memories of her time as an intern, only interrupted by the rush of pain that hit her out of nowhere. It was what kick-started her brain for real, memories coming back of how she was in the catacombs of her institute working on a case. It was late at night, and she had sent her assistant home because all they had to do was wait for the results. Then the printer finally starting to print the results of the tests for her, she walked over there, picking up the paper her eyes barely had times to wander over the page before she felt something hit the back of her head, knocking her over for a second before she could look, catching a glimpse of a person in the shadows before the sound of a gun echoed through the institute and then there was this unspeakable and almost unbearable pain, caused by the bullet that hit her. They had come for her research, probably with the goal of covering the results, so she had to be right. Those three recent homicides were linked with the cold cases she had dug up recently, and she had to make sure the homicide detectives working that case knew. That was why she tried to get up only to be stopped by the pain intensifying, making her grunt before she felt hands on her shoulders pushing her back onto the bed. “No need to lie. I know they tried to kill me...”, she growled back, eyes focusing on his face, waiting for her vision to finally stop being blurry.
“I don’t need a TV. I need a phone and I need it now...”

“What the bloody hell are you talking about?”, Jason’s eyes wandered over their features, utterly puzzled by what they just said. The buzzing music of the club behind them filled up the weird silence between them, every muscle in his body was tensed, not sure what words would be followed by the silence.
“I…I’m just so unsure Jason.” She stuttered out, before looking up at him. Her eyes had a mixture of sadness and remorse in them. “You…You are asking so much of me so quickly. Not only that but it feels like everywhere we go you’ve been with at least a few of the girls in the room, who clearly haven’t given up on you yet. Do you know what that feels like? When we just been together officially for a few weeks?” She told him, ducking her head down briefly before looking back up at him. “I don’t know if I’m the right girl for you.”
“Bullshit you knew what you were getting yourself into and you were excited...”, he said, confusion written all over his face until a realization hit him like a train. “It’s not about you...it’s about me. open to m/f/nb the test muse: Willemijn “Mina” van Dam is a singer (both trained classically and for musical theatre) sharing a flat with her best friend Rufus Mayerling, a deaf artist whose muse she is and how is super chilled about her singing in the middle of the night suggested connection: someone who either loves the art, hates it or shares a mutual confusion with Mina about it; they could also be a buyer, the owner of the gallery or someone serving drinks
Truth be told, she was only here because of her best friend, Rufus Mayerling. He was an aspiring artist, wanting to exhibit his pieces in the very gallery they were currently in. The only issue was that his work, though considered quite promising by the gallery owner, wasn’t considered profitable enough to market it towards his high society clientele. Rufus’ only hope was to keep on networking and finding someone with prestige as an art collector to buy his work, creating a wave effect that could open him the door to his Manhattan gallery. And to sell to such a collector, he needed to network and in order to do that he usually needed his best friend to translate between him and the world, considering that most people were not able to communicate in sign language. Mina never had a problem of backing him up in public, translating between him and the world but as of right now it looked like he didn’t need her. He had met someone who was not only interested in his work but was also rather fluent in sign language. So here she was, eyes wandering over paintings that looked like either a three-year-old had painted them or alternatively a chimpanzee, but clearly not like an investment piece that sold for a minimum of half a million. And to her, it looked like everyone, but she was overly ecstatic about those postmodern paintings, debating about the message the artist wanted to send and where they would hang it in their penthouse or mansion.

The mun is talking
I have just somewhat tidied up my blog, deleting a lot of posts since I attempt to get a clean cut while not starting a new blog. I think I’ll later sort out the remaining posts and then decide what to do with the muses. My initial thought is that I’ll keep Rhena and Victoria (and if my partners want to their threads also), seriously rework Ferdinand and then see what to do from there.
