'Oh, it seems like paradise, but really it's a filthy dumpster, full of our worst anxieties.'
The "Good" Place, from television show 'The Good Place'
When life keeps giving you frozen yoghurt instead of ice cream, you need to ask why.
Often, the answer lies inside. The very roads here are mirrors, where we can see ourselves as monsters; the worst of us was sewn in with the flowers to blossom, painted into the sky with the candyfloss clouds. This pretty picture was designed to impress, and then rot.
But, fear not. Because at our worst, humans often find our best. We learn hard lessons from our crafted obstacles; we grow when the hardships we designed for each other are put to rest. What began as a Hell became proof— proof that, as Michael said, people improve when they get external love and support.
Follow your heart. Firstly, because the storybook is often far less sweet than it seems; and secondly, because it's probably telling you to become far better than you've been.
thank you! I hope you like this as well, it might be my favourite show of all time!
send me a 🏠 if you want a poem about a fictional place that your blog reminds me of!
