Hiiii Hundred Companions! Love the story so far, it's really well done! I wanted to ask Shyre a question if he's not too busy healing Soren! :) Anyway, I wanted to ask what Shyre thinks of Shae, and what she thinks of him. It's kinda hard for her to say since she's so adorable and mute and all! And what would Shae do if Shyre put his life on the line to protect her once again like with that big cheating orc chief! Thank you! Keep writing, it's great!!!

Shae is much happier living with Shyre and the Hundred Companions, than she was living in the village with her mother. The village she lived in was prone to raids and low food levels year-round. While she does miss her mother and the other people in the village, she considers her life considerably better, and sees Shyre as her best friend and a savior.Shyre sees Shae as a ward, definitely being an older brother type to her. He’s about 8 years older than her, and honestly just wants to know what she’s thinking most of the time. He is attempting to teach her how to write, with moderate success.Should anything happen to Shyre, Shae would be the first one to pick up his sword and shield and resume the fight in his place. Shyre knows this and has been training her to protect herself with sword and shield.

The Hundred Companions: Worldbuilding

Due to the world’s axial tilt, the planet has a freezing far north and a scorching southern hemisphere.

The Maren Ocean splits the northern continent and southern continent.

All races have migrated across the globe by the time the story takes place -However several millennia earlier:      -Elves, Halfings, and Dwarves lived on the northern continent      -Orcs and Gnomes were relegated to the southern continent      -Humans were dispersed across the coasts of the northern and southern continents.

Tieflings and Dragonborn do exist, however are relatively rare and live in secluded pockets across the northern and southern continents, keeping to themselves.

At the time of the story, Elves are extinct.

Alister Facts: Part 1

Age: Ancient (Several millenia) Hair Color- Black  Eye Color- Red Skin- grey and black Height- 6′10 (in full demonic form, otherwise takes the height of his host until he takes complete control) Weight- 240lbs Extra: Full form has an arm forged of soul-steel that functions as a sword. Full form also has wings. These features only appear when he has complete control of his host or is not cursed in sword form.

Sword Appearance -Black soul-steel Scimitar with silver inscriptions along the edge of the blade in abyssal that read ‘Warfare, Death, Destruction, Murder’

Full title is Alister Executioner of Hell

Is incredibly smart, but can easily be tricked- especially because of his pride.

Other demons, devils and daemons were worried about him getting too much control, and banished him to the mortal plane in the form of a sword through trickery

Adrien is the first person to wield him in over 300 years -All other wielders of the past died within a few weeks of owning Alister -Thus Adrien is the longest-lived owner of Alister

Readers will get to see Alister fight in his full form before the end of The Hundred Companions

Sven Facts: Part 1

Age- 19 Hair Color- blond and thick beard Eye Color- brown Skin tone- pale Height- 6′4 Weight- 210

Grandmother is a Valkyrie, who left shortly after his father’s birth. No one knows where she went or where she is now.

Does not empathize well with other people, and thus often has issues making and keeping friends.

Was hand-picked by One Eye to be his student -Picked up One Eye’s love of poetry, however hasn’t tried write any himself    -Yet

Looks older than he is

Soren Facts: Part 1

Age- 28 Hair color- Dark brown, shoulder length and wavy Eye color- Blue Skin Tone- Pale Height- 5′8 Weight- 130lbs

Has loyally kept a journal since his youth.  -He started a new one right before joining the Hundred Companions. You can read it here.

Grew up in the far north as a devout follower of the All-Father through his childhood

Has a younger brother named Sven who he has been sending most of his wages back home for.

Joined the ranks of the inquisition at 18, and has trained 10 years before being assigned to the Hundred Companions -Will not share exactly why: only other people who know are One Eye and Captain Ursin    -Even they do not know the full reason

One Eye Facts: Part 1

Age- Old (mid to late 70′s) Hair Color- Grey and white, with long beard  Eye Color- Brown Skin tone- Medium-Dark Height- 6′1 (Usually hunched over, appears shorter) Weight- 170lbs

Has been with the Hundred Companions since they formed over 50 years ago.

The oldest member of the Hundred Companions

Lost his eye before becoming the second in command, hence the nickname that everyone knows him by - Real name is Fallstaff

Has a hard time forgiving others and himself, and does not consider himself a good person despite being one of the most kind and upstanding people in the Hundred Companions

Likes poetry and occasionally attempts to write it, but rarely if ever shows it to others.

Captain Ursin Facts: Part 1

Age- 47 Hair Color- brown Eye Color- brown Skin tone- Medium Height- 6′5 Weight- 255lbs

Parents were nomadic and they traveled most of the southern continent during his youth. 

Joined the Hundred Companions as a trainee when he was 15, was counted as one of the hundred by the time he was 18. 

Was named successor of the previous captain when he was 38 -Not the youngest captain the company has had- the youngest was the previous captain, who became the captain when she was 35

Considered leaving the companions and settling down before becoming the Captain, but the company was his entire life and he never found the right man.

Shyre Facts: Part 1

Age- 20 Hair Color- Dark brown, barely long enough for a short ponytail Eye Color- Green Skin tone- Medium-Pale Height- 5′11 Weight- 150 lbs

Grew up on the southern continent

Is very dodgy when answering why he became a paladin. Usual reply: “It’s what feels right.”

Has been numbered as one of the hundred for only 6 months at the time of the story

Strongest sense of morality of the main characters

Nazu Facts: Part 1

Age- 31 Hair Color- Black Eye Color- Brown Skin Tone- grey/green Height- 6′6 Weight- 230 lbs

Father was an orc, mother was human -Mother did not want children, abandoned her when she was 5. Father was never around.

Taken in by monks and raised in a pacifist temple -Trained in martial arts there

When the Hundred Companions came through the area, she was asked to join the ranks. She agreed, as it was a chance to travel and hone her skills before eventually returning to the temple. 

Out of all the characters, knows One Eye the best- INCLUDING Captain Ursin and Sven

Hyratus Facts: Part 1

Age- Late 30′s to Early 40′s Hair Color- Salt and pepper, beard long enough to be tied in a knot Eye Color- Brown Skin tone- medium Height- 5′10 Weight- 160lbs

Grew up on the northern coast of the southern continent -Both parents still alive, work as merchants -Has a younger sister who followed him to the clergy

Joined the clergy at 20, was trained in combat -The temple he lived in had a brief deal with the Hundred Companions, after which Hyratus joined the ranks to travel with them for 10 years before returning home -At the time of the story, he is in his 8th year

Had a fleeting interest in demonology that he thought he’d never need to use.
