"Yeah... They do that." The humor previously in his tone dripped away like the dark blood on her blade. Something wasn't right. It didn't take a genius to note the obvious shift in her demeanor nor even the palpable tension in the air. Ghostface examined her face with a slight tilt of his head. Adjacent to her, sprawled on the ground was the victim. Somehow, that word, victim, didn't befit the creature. They weren't creatures that elicited pity. Even the staunchest of people out there, the ones that believed every living thing warranted kindness and respect wouldn't agree that the Entity's pets were among those.
His following movements came naturally. He picked up the knife she had dropped, retrieved a dirty rag from his pocket (on closer inspection, it was the remnant of someone's shirt), and began to clean the ichor from the blade. At the same time, he positioned himself with care, inching his boot to that space separating Harley from the creature as he tried to wedge himself between the two as a sort of visual barrier.
"You all right?" There was no lecture, no stern words warning her of the dangers present in the outskirts. She had learned a lesson today, certainly, but her current state of mind was of a more pressing concern.
There was still a fog in her brain. A haze she was having a hard time fully pushing away. It was one of those moments where she didn't feel in control of her own mind, of her own body and she hated it. Harley watched him pick up the discarded blade, wipe it clean. Turned so she was always facing him. Its not that she didn't trust Ghostface, but right now she needed something to ground her and he was the only friendly face around right now.
When he tried to wedge himself between her and the creature she took a step back — gave him space, allowed him to be that barrier mentally, physically and visually. Now that I was dead it hadn't triggered any sort of feeling with in her, in fact she couldn't feel anything. Harley felt hollow right now.
Are you alright. The forced smile easily fell at the question. "No," her voice came out softly as she wrapped her arms around herself. "Do you — feel like you're losing yourself here? Like there are moments that you just don't feel like yourself anymore or have a hard time remembering things from the outside?"
Her mental state certainly wasn't helped by her already deteriorating mental health. Harley had been trying to keep a brave face, to keep smiling through everything in hopes that she could brighten the mood of others but it was starting to eat away at her. There hadn't been a moment yet where she'd let herself grieve, to really accept her new reality. Everything had happened so fast and now she was spiraling fast. "I'm sorry, I know you don't wanna deal with all this I just I don't know what to do."
The cenobite never made a habit of sitting down -- if only, presumably, because it did not afford it the chance to look down its nose as whomever had the displeasure of its company. But exceptions to the rule had begun to pile up as Harley had started to make a habit of soliciting it for a place to sit in its lap. If nothing else, she had found a way to pry it away from its work of deciphering skin-bound tomes dredged out of the depths of the Fog.
Seated on one of the half-desiccated chairs it had dragged in from the outer reaches of the borgo, its posture was somewhat lax, reclining slightly, knees apart.
It watched with a hooded gaze, apparently content, to see her hold its hand in her own. When she spoke, it shook its head.
" Don't say that. You are sustenance for a cosmic parasite here. We all are. "
With her fingers laced with its own, it squeezed her hand reassuringly, raising it up to press a kiss into her knuckles while its pins grazed her skin.
" I am... glad to have met you as well, though. Very glad. "
The cold feeling of the pins and the kiss on her knuckles caused goosebumps on her skin. Her free hand slid up to rest on the side of its neck, her expression soft and full of love. "I don't know what crazy line of events led that thing to pick me of all people in Gotham but it saved me in a way and it brought me to something that is now so precious to me — you. This isn't some obsession like he was either, I love you, truly."
Though something had been lingering in her head for some time now, a dread that clawed at her heart at night. They all wanted out but they were all from different places, from different times. What if they got out and they were all scattered. The thought makes her expression drop, and her shoulders to droop. "I don't know what I'd do if we got out of here and we were separated, if we came out in different places. I don't wanna go back to the way things were before, I don't think I'd survive it this time."
The idea of going back to Gotham at all made her skin crawl. She didn't want to exist in the same city as the Joker, let alone the same universe. "If I go back there, its going to end in one of two ways and I — I don't know if I'm strong enough to do it. I don't know if I can face him alone."

Harleen Quinzel was content for the first time in a really long time. Sitting in the Hell Priests lap she had a smile on her face while she held Its hand in hers. Her head resting on Its shoulder as her eyes grew a little heavy. The day had been quiet, neither of them being called for trials which was perfectly fine for her because she got to spend more time with it.

It spoke as she let out a happy sigh. Picking her head up she looked into Its eyes and furrowed her brows. "Do I really seem happy all the time? I guess I try to be but I know I don't always feel like I am." Looking down at their hands she laced their fingers together. "Though I do know that I'm a lot happier now than I was before. You make me happy." Looking back up at Its face she smiled brightly. "If nothing else, meeting you was worth being sucked into this weird place."
KNIVES OUT — accepting
A glowing knife, one of the tricksters blades, was clutched tightly in Harleys right hand. How exactly she ended up with it she couldn't really remember. Her knuckles turning white from the strength of the grip and she was sure the metal of the handle would be deformed from it but she didn't care right now — her mind was elsewhere. Lost in a haze of madness she'd wandered off into the woods of the fog. Obviously she'd wandered too far because one of The Entity's pets had found her.
Its vaguely humanoid face, something about it in the spiral she'd been in set her off and when it started to come after her it triggered a frenzy. She was now covered in its blood, black ichor dripping from the knife and spattered across her face and body. Harley wasn't usually quite this violent when it came to killing, not usually quite this unhinged. She stared at it, not really seeing it until the voice came from behind her.

Spinning around she started to lift the knife, still in that daze until the stark white of the mask before her pierced the fog of her mind. Friendly — not a threat. At least not in this instant. Her pupils still all but swallowed the blue of her eyes as she knife fell from her grip. The usual grin on her face wasn't present as she looked at the other killer. "Huh?" Slowly she seemed to come back to herself as she looked back at the mess she'd made and then back at him. "Oh uh — yeah I guess so." Harley tried to smile at Ghostface but it was obviously strained and forced. "Well I guess I learned my lesson about wanderin off alone in the woods. Didn't realize I'd wandered far enough to come across somethin out here."
