As of 10:35am June 7th, the total cases of Covid-19 stood at 284, 868 and the number of recorded deaths is 40,465 - although the figure is believed to be much higher.

We should have gone into lockdown sooner and no way should we be coming out of it now.

NHS England charging for GP appointments

The Tories have SILENTLY rolled out £145 of charges to see a GP in Dorset. £145 will get you a face to face consultation for 40 minutes £40 will get you a phone consult for 10 minutes £80 will get you a consultation for 20 minutes. The Tories have thus far declined to comment on this roll out as some people continue to wait up to 4 weeks to access a 7 minute appointment.

Nurses who voted UKIP and Tory last time- will they make the same mistake this time I wonder?

Here are the names of all 31 Scottish Tories. They voted in defence of the rape clause yesterday.

Their vote was a direct assault on women who have suffered a traumatic experience.

Their vote was for a child conceived by rape to have it declared on an official document.

Their vote was to cut £13 a week of tax credit. That £13 can make all the difference. Between making do or using a food bank. Between life or death.

Anyone, and I mean *anyone*, who votes for the Tories in the councils or the general election is backing this policy.

And if you do, that makes you inhuman. This policy is indefensible and I’ll happily challenge anyone who declares otherwise.

Seriously, this is the big one. Please spend 10 minutes of your time to watch and understand how the single transferable voting system works. He explains it far better than I ever could but I’ll lightly go over it for those who don’t have time just now.

It’s important that you try and rank all candidates. This voting system does not work like the Eurovision Song Contest.

For example if you vote like this:

SNP 1 SNP 2 Green 3 Pro-indy independent candidate 4 Unionist independent candidate 5 Lib dem 6 Labour 7 Tory 8

It works like this. The first ‘round’ of counting commences and the first candidate to pass a certain threshold gets elected.

So if the first SNP candidate gets elected then chances are your vote contributed to that and that’s it all done.

If however the SNP candidate smashed the threshold, the surplus is added back in and the second preference is taken. So if the first SNP candidate won with 1500 votes on a threshold of 1100 and they all voted SNP for their second choice, then that SNP candidate gets 400 additional votes transferred.

If that gets them over the threshold by 150 then 150 gets transferred to the Green vote and so on.

A proposed law would see child social care and protection services opened up for private companies to run. It would also allow over 80 years of child protection law to be swept aside, in what critics are calling a “bonfire” of children’s rights. And the bill could threaten to put already vulnerable and abused children at even greater risk.
