Embracing Uncertainty: Spiritual Lessons from Anxiety Disorders
In the field of mental health, there is a concept relating to tolerance for uncertainty, most specifically relating to treatment of anxiety disorders; People with high anxiety have a low tolerance for uncertainty, whereas people with low anxiety have a high tolerance for uncertainty.
An extreme example is someone who suffers with agoraphobia, an anxiety-based panic disorder whereby they may remain “shut-ins,” refusing to leave their homes. They do not want to leave their homes because of the uncertainty that something bad, no matter how slight the chance, might happen to them should they venture outside.

This isn’t who I want to be.
Are you happy?
I find times asking myself this. The world is still moving, everyone goes about their day. But sometimes things happen in my life where I have to pause and think. Is this what I want my life to be like? Is this the society I dreamed of? Are the people around me the people I want to be like? Or are they discouraging me. It’s important you know, happiness, worth reclaiming.
Sometimes all you have to do is change the way you think. You know change, it’s your choice and you deserve to be happy, you deserve to be loved, deserve to stand up for truth and I recommend claiming that. Run after happiness. Find joy. You won’t regret it.
I want to be free of everything that holds me back and traps me. I want to be able to run fearlessly, and never have to slow down.

I just don’t want to get caught in a cycle. The world we live in aims only to push you onto the next stepping stone: go to school, to get a job, to get a house, to raise a family in, to marry someone nice, to earn enough money for your pension, and then you just die. I can’t bear that. I feel there has to be more to life than just that, and I won’t be satisfied until I’ve found it. I won’t be another number in their giant system; I won’t slip into that old routine and just give up dreaming.
