Why white male conspiracy theorists piss me off

Conspiracy theory: “Chemtrails”, HAARP, and UFOs are chemical weapons tests that are designed to make people sick and manipulate the weather.

Actual facts: Global climate change is shifting the weather. Pollution has been proven to cause diseases such as asthma, hypertension, and allergies— this is exacerbated by a phenomenon known as Environmental Racism, where companies set up toxic industry near poor, brown communities. People of Color have been subjected to government sponsored biological weapons tests and illegal medical experiments in the past.

Conspiracy theory: The ebola scare and mass shootings are “false flag” scenarios created by the government to take away citizens’ rights to defend themselves, and to ease us into FEMA mass internment camps.

Actual facts: People of Color have been socially and economically forced into ghettos for a century or more now, and when they protest the injustice of this situation, or police abuses, they are subject to martial law and disproportionate responses. These responses have been condemned by international human rights groups such as Amnesty International. Black and brown folks never even had the right to bear arms in the first place. Mass shootings are the result of white male entitlement, racism, and misogyny, with study after study proving this.

Conspiracy theory: Predominantly white “Occupy” movements in the United States have been infiltrated by government agents who seek to disrupt and enrage innocent activists.

Actual facts: COINTELPRO and similar government sponsored programs in the past have been used to gaslight and bait peaceful PoC movements into violence. Modern implementations of this can be seen in the racial profiling of Homeland Security and FBI stings, but communities have actively kicked out and resisted instigators, such as in 2012, when a mosque kicked out an undercover cop, and a whistleblower confirmed the profiling involved. This happens despite the fact that white men are the primary perpetrators of domestic terrorism.

Notice how these actual, proven conspiracies are never ever mentioned by white male conspiracy theorists.
