Welcome one and all to the iridescent ocean. A beautiful beach paradise hidden away in the dimension of the entity only seen by those who stray too far from the campfire. Those who choose to wander may find themselves venturing into this strange realm of white sand beaches and bioluminescent waters. Be warned though… You may begin to adapt to the new environment in new and strange ways not yet seen in the realms the moment you enter those glowing waters.

The danger the iridescent ocean posed is one that many wouldnt assume at first glance. Many ships who have entered never exactly left, instead being punctured, torn and dragged down to the sea floor by forces unknown. Once formidable titans of the sea now lay at the bottom. Abandoned. Rotting and rusting away… Though nowadays it is said that some creatures have been known to claim and make these their temporary homes. Though. Those are just rumors… Right?

Characterized by the long strands of leafy kelp and the general inability for ships to pass through easily comes the luscious kelp forest. Humans are advised to enter with some level of caution as the strands have been known to get caught in boat motors or wrap around oars seemingly on their own. Merfolk must exercise caution as well as the kelp can restrain and make merfolk much easier to catch if a chase ensues.

Location Dump

Merfolk and underwater creatures may be found here after getting over the shock of their changes. While the colorful coral and vibrant fish can be gorgeous at times this location is to be navigated with caution as merfolk and monsters can be found lingering, hiding in the rocks and in the coral ready to attack unsuspecting prey. Merfolk are also prone to attacks by boat fairing humans in these areas and should also have a level of caution when traveling close to the surface.

Two days left till the opening of the Iridescent ocean server! Hope you guys are ready! Another location drop for you guys!

The unfortunate ones whom have been swept up by the ocean may find themselves here with an unusual aquatic change. Those who find themselves in these caves are met by the darkness illuminated by the glowing water and sparkling gems. Small rock formations litter the cave providing some cover to hide in. Boats are able to pass through though the winding caves may prove difficult to navigate. Sea creatures beware though. There may be something else in those waters with you.

For the few who look further than the black sandy beach they may find the rotten remnants of a long forgotten harbor. Fishing supplies like fishing poles, lures, nets, hooks of various sizes and spears litter the dock posing a threat to the sea life that may inhabit the ocean. Along the docks small rickety boats can be found allowing those who still cling to land the ability to travel. Be warned though. Those boats can be tipped if enough force is applied, plunging the landlubber into the depths if they aren’t careful.

LORE DROP

Those unfortunate few whom have found themselves in the realm known as the iridescent ocean are first greeted with this beach. Written accounts of those who had entered this realm note the strange almost ash like sand, its odd pigmentation and the strong odor of salt water and burnt wood. For those who choose to stay you may find the deserted remnants of those who entered such as extinguished campfires, clothes, jewelry, bones and even decaying boats… Some have even reported finding shimmering iridescent shards buried in the soft sands or being taken by the glowing water. Those greedy enough to try to take these shards were claimed by those who have escaped to have been swallowed by the waves, never to be seen again.

Quick update! The server is almost ready to be opened! I guess ill give you some lore dumps to hold you guys over until the link gets posted! So! Join us as we introduce the new locations that can be explored within the new realm!

Mini update!

Were 15 days away from the official iridescent ocean servers opening! So! in light of that heres whats going to happen. On april 20th the servers will open for the general public though roleplay and public blog stuff will officially begin on may 1st.

Within those 10 days people in the server can discuss roleplay plans, ideas they might have for the event (we are extremely open to suggestions), showcase art and generally shoot the shit until its fish time.

Happy to announce that date for the servers reveal and some more details on the event!

ETA for the server is April 20th!

So the way the event will work is that your character can either stay a human or become a mermaid/merman. Note you can change your choice if your character goes from human to mer but cant if its mer to human. Please be aware of that.

There will be areas that would allow those who are still human to interact with mers

If killed a mer wont return to their human selves and will find themselves in the grotto, the grotto functions as a campfire for those unlucky enough to have been transformed by the ocean.

Ill probably release an in depth mer post at some point and some more notes on the event as we get closer so stay tuned!
