Who hurt you? she could ask and laugh, knowing that the response she would get would not land anywhere close to the truth. There's always someone, or something, for creatures of their kind.

Still, she can't help but reach a metaphorical hand to soften the blow already dealt. "I'll keep it in mind you were offering, though."
