âThatâs not quite the idea I had, but we can for sure use the blanket and fireplace after my ideaâŚor we could even do it in front of said fireplace. Then weâd be really warmed up.â Graham suggested, nudging her with his shoulder as the two continued to walk down the street. He was thankful for the coffee in his hand, because it was helping to warm him up. One day heâd purchase a proper coat. Until then, a light jacket would have to do. âAhh, but Iâm glad you did. Could you imagine if the two of us would have never met? Tragic, really. Donât leave me and go back to California. I might have to follow you.â Spotting a nearby bench, he grabbed onto Jamieâs arm and pulled her to it, taking a seat and resisting the urge to pull her into his lap. Instead, he patted the spot besides him. âWhat are you choosing to busy yourself with, if itâs not me?â
âThen why are we out here when we could be in front of a fireplace and working up a sweat, huh?â Jamie nudged him back with a playful smirk tugging on her lips, trying to stop her cheeks from becoming bright red. âHow are you even dealing with this weather without a proper jacket? I have a million layers on and Iâm still freezing.â She turned her head to look at him. âI donât think I would mind that. Come with me and we can enjoy the California weather.â She let out a small yelp as he pulled her towards the bench. Chuckling, she sat down beside him, resting her coffee between her legs for a moment before unwrapping her scarf from around her neck and placed it around him, trying to give him some warmth. Picking her cup up once more, she crossed one leg over the other while her free hand moved to rest on the otherâs thigh. âI do have work, you know. As much as I enjoy my job, I wouldnât mind spending the time with you.âÂ
