We create, we create content, but this hasn't ever really meant a 'blog.' We leave the words to the photos & videos we create whether for our personal use or for our clients. But, this past weekend provided too much of an experience not to share.
We were provided the opportunity to have a 'staycation' at a venue we had visited frequent for special events & lunches/brunches/dinners. This time we didn't have to leave the acres of land in the Malibu canyon after our dinner & drinks, this time we put our feet up in one of the private cottages at Calamigos Guest Ranch & Beach Club. Our time here was full of too much not to share, hence why you are now reading this.
Our visit technically started the night before our first night in the cottage while attending an event showcasing their new Pizza bar space. Two outdoor pizza ovens cranked out some great pizza while the bars kept the drinks readily available.
The next day we returned to begin our 'staycation' weekend & checked into our cottage on the Guest Ranch. After a very easy check-in (accompanied by some complimentary champagne) we were escorted to our private cottage that included a private patio, outdoor shower, a giant bathtub & separate glass shower, all within a nice open space bathroom. In our room we had a personalized note resting up against our complimentary bottle of wine (& bottle opener). The amenities continued with slippers, sleeping kit (ear plugs, eye masks, sleeping mist), & all the bath necessities one could ask for.
The Malibu Cafe is but a hop-skip & a jump away from the Guest Ranch, especially when there is a shuttle (in the form of a Tesla Model X) available to take you anywhere on the Calamigos Ranch property (it will also take you to the beach, but will get into that shortly). If you've never been to the Malibu Cafe, go. Besides great food, it's an experience.
The Guest Ranch lobby hosts a breakfast in the morning that has everything you could want (fresh juices, cereals, pastries, as well as hot items such as pancakes & eggs; this may vary day-to-day). Easily the best 'continental' breakfast assortment we've experienced in awhile. In the lobby, there is a sign that is updated daily with the surf/sunrise/sunset info which is great for those seeking surf or hoping to catch sunset at the Beach Club.
The Guest Ranch's attention to detail is seen everywhere you turn throughout the property. Brand integrity is a part of our profession & I applaud Calamigos on their grounds.
