If you’re a rabid fan of Mayans M.C., you may have recognized an ear — yes, an ear — of a popular actor in one of the drama’s teasers for the new season. At the Contenders Television panel for the FX series, executive producer Elgin James confirmed the ear belongs to Manny Montana, who will join the cast after playing Rio on NBC’s Good Girls. James was mostly mum about who Montana will play, other than saying “he causes some trouble” as a member of the Yuma Mayans. Season 4 is set to premiere with back-to-back episodes April 19 at 10 p.m., with Montana set to make his debut in episode 2 titled “Hymn Among the Ruins.”

I think the thread is bullshit tbh and the way people insist on vilifying the moc who has precisely zero clout is disgusting. If Mae’s taking part in that, then I don’t think people wanna hear my opinion on her. She’s been in the industry a long time and she should know better. She knows how much harder poc have to work to get anywhere, professionally.
Let me get one thing clear - I don’t like Manny. I think he’s an asshole. But the way he’s being scapegoated is fucking vile. The show didn’t get cancelled because one actor didn’t wanna take a pay cut. That’s the top and bottom of it.
The language in that thread and the articles is so loaded and it’s pissing me off a lot. He didn’t refuse to call Christina by her name. Based on what she said in her interview, she’d never told him she doesn’t like being called Chris.
“Three established, brilliant actresses” vs “breakout male co star” “previously unknown male co-star” “upstart”? Refusing a pay cut makes him a jerk? Wanting to keep your salary as it was = having a big head? He’s as talented as any of them and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting to make less money for the same work because NEWS FLASH it’s a job. He’s there to get paid.
As for rio being easy to write out because he’s a criminal - THEY’RE ALL CRIMINALS. Plus, the audience would dwindle without him and they’d more than likely get cancelled anyway. Fact. Most of the fandom is rio/brio centric. He’s what’s been bringing in the numbers post s2. He’s what they used to market the show. He’s been carrying that show on his motherfucking back for the last two years.
Once again, THE SHOW DID NOT GET CANCELLED BECAUSE OF HIM! The show hadn’t been doing well for ages. Every fucking season the ratings and audience numbers were dropping consistently. The show wasn’t making money for anybody and that’s why they fucking cancelled it. It’s really that simple.
