So many posts about femininity seem to focus on being poised and elegant and pulled together all the time and I'm over it. You can be feminine and messy, or loud, or chaotic. You don't need to be in a full face of makeup, a designer dress and heels all the time to be feminine.
You get to decide what femininity means for you and act accordingly.
femininity is so multidimensional you can't even define it. I hope the internet will open up diversity in femininity more, like it feels like we're returning to this postfeminist thing where only white (and skinny and supermodelesque) women's voices are valued. hate to break it to you guys but i can like the coquette aesthetic and be a size 6. there is no singular image of femininity, and every woman lives with the burden of defining their femininity throughout their life. that's literally tumblr, a step in my journey to finding my feminine identity.
