May 17, 2007. 9 years ago, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. I said YES to my Savior. I was lost back then. But I didn't know I was lost, I thought I was going to the right direction. I thought I was doing the right things, saying good things, thinking good things. I had my own standards, quite low standards. I always look for love from things and wrong people. I never thought only a God like Him accepts the broken me, but doesn't want me to stay that way. I never thought life could be more meaningful. My 9 years was not full of happiness, there were times I fight for things I already surrendered to Him. I keep on following my own plans, doing things without His approval, choosing my own path. I was hard-headed. I am already a "church-goer" since 2006 but I didn't take it seriously. I always go to church because my classmates were there. If they don't go, I won't. I was lazy. I don't read devotional books and the bible everyday. I only read when I want to even if I have all the time to do it. But I listened to sermons, I responded to the pastor or speaker. I was a normal attender. But it didn't take me too far on the road of my Christian life. My cousin invited me to join a summer camp in 2005 for free. I didn't go. After a year, I was in La Trinidad, Benguet in an unforgettable event of my second life. I joined our summer youth camp. It was my first, it was memorable. My cgmates were there, my cousins, my friends. On the last night, I cried out to God. On bended knees, I proclaimed that Jesus Christ can only save me. He is my Messiah, I asked for forgiveness for the past months I've been careless, stubborn and was deceived. I repented from my sins. Sins that the enemy keeps on reminding me I am worthless, useless, nothing. But God gave me a new heart. New heart to love, forgive, restart. I am hoping and praying for more years with Him, eternity is my desire. But since I am still here on earth, I will try to live for Him, love like Jesus, be like my mighty Savior so one day, I will be joined by you in worshipping the Lord in His kingdom.
