Obit of the Day: The 20-Year-Old Toddler
Brooke Greenberg weighed 16 pounds and stood 30 inches tall - as a 20-year-old. The college-age woman had never grown past the height of an average 15-month-old girl. Her cognitive level was equal to a two-year-old’s. She even kept most of her baby teeth.
Brooke began experiencing various medical issue immediately after birth when she required hip surgery. She would suffer from seven perforated ulcers, a seizure, and a suspected tumor all before she was five years old.
And she would not grow. She appeared stuck in time. As her three sisters - two older and one younger - continued age, Brooke would not. She could wear the same outfits for 10-11 years.
Brooke underwent batteries of tests and, including DNA testing, to determine the cause of her perpetual toddler status. None was found. Eventually doctors simply said that Brooke suffered from “Syndrome X.”
Note: Approximately half-a-dozen individuals on earth suffer from the same symptoms. Doctors remain baffled.
Brooke Greenberg died on October 24, 2013 at the age of 20.

God bless the memory of this unfortunate young woman.
