I’ve been accepted!

So happy to share that I’ve been accepted onto two vacation schemes at top London firms! I’m still waiting to hear back from one, got another assessment centre tomorrow, and there are still firms I’ve not heard back from at all yet!

Although this cycle isn’t over yet, I’m going to start putting together some blog posts about my top tips for writing law firm applications, how to demonstrate commercial awareness, and how to ace online reasoning tests. Is there anything in particular that you would like me to write about? 

To anyone still waiting to hear back, keep holding onto hope (it’s always the ones you least expect)!

Which area(s) of law are you most interested in: Governmental/Constitutional. I'm interested in one day working within the government, ideally in the legislature or State Department. 

What is one thing about studying/ practising law that you wish you knew: I'll be going to school (most likely) as a part-time student, I'm interested in trying to connect with other part-time/non-traditional students

Your favourite thing about the studyblr community: The motivation. It keeps me focused and knowing I can do it all, but to also make sure I'm taking time for myself and staying healthy. 

What’s your best advice for law students? Understand time-management skills early on. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

What is one thing about studying/ practising law that you wish you knew: I wish I knew that there is never a truth, there are only more or less accepted theories. And I should read and learn most of them to find my own true idea.

Your favourite thing about the studyblr community: I love how helpful and supporting studyblr community is. You can find both great ideas and useful advice here.

What’s your best advice for law students? It is important to understand the idea of law, justice and equality. Everyone can decide or judge looking at the written laws and Nazi laws were written laws too. You have to think and evaluate what is in front of you with the feeling of justice and equality if you really want to help people and change something in this world.

What is one thing about studying/ practising law that you wish you knew: Law is not about theories but practical application. You have to think about the law in the context of real-life application.

Your favourite thing about the studyblr community: Studyblr is helpful because it tells me we're all in the same sinking boat but we are all still trying real hard. Also cute notes are cute. 

What’s your best advice for law students? I'm in my third year of law school in a 5 degree course in India and I have given several talks on suggestions to law students. Which all boil down to a couple of things for me so far- do what you love, do it for reasons you truly believe in, read cases not case briefs, read both sides of the debate.

What’s your best advice for law students? Don’t compare yourself to other people, get help from your professors and tutors during their office hours, and enjoy yourself!
