Why are we doing this?
The aim of this event is to introduce Somerville residents to our three historic branch libraries. And with the outdoor component it will be a celebration of mind and body. On that note we are using these funds to install a permanent bike pump outside the Central Library on Highland Ave.
Our Beacon Street neighbors Whole Foods are providing a lite lunch, and you can look forward to a Union Square Donut and coffee at the starting line. This is an early May event so check the weather and perhaps dress warm. Thick tweed might be an idea… Prizes will be given to best dressed man, woman and child (and bicycle!) thanks to Archival Clothing, Tretorn, and Redbones.
With the strong local crowd of Library Friends, Somerville Bike Committee folk, residents and patrons, and bike builders - we hope these tickets will go fast. 9am check-in at West Branch (40 College Avenue near Davis Square) for 9:30am start. Somerville police escort requested.
Thank you to our sponsors Whole Foods (Somerville), Archival Clothing, Tretorn, Union Square Donuts, Redbones, and our ride partner the Somerville Bicycle Committee.
The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the Library.
