Shiro’s fighting animations were the filling, icing and cherry on top

I liked that his style also told his story. It was clearly informed by experience fighting for his life. It was stupid fast, brutal, and unpredictable, and just straight up tenacious. It was tested. And it was noticeably different from Allura’s formal combat training and Keith’s (presumably) innate-but-untested swordsmanship.

The contrast in styles/experiences too I think added to one of VLD’s great initial underlying messages which was that different skills are not inherently better or worse, just one may be more suited to a situation over another, and that combinations of different skills are even better.

will anything ever top the vld first arc shiro aesthetic tho? the bp suit, the galra arm, the white floof and undercut (i will fight anyone who says it was a bad hairdo!). like, the colours alone? absolutely iconic. all shiros are incredible but s1/2 shiro is like. on another level tbh.

remember when 8tracks was super popular and you could often see a playlist advertised on here like once a day (whether in tags or on your dash) and pretty much every character/fandom had at least one playlist and there were tons more for ocs and tracklist posts on here could get over 100,000 notes? and then they implemented that rule where you could listen to one hour a week for free otherwise you had to pay? and after that, all these 8tracks playlist posts that were so common on your dash or in tags just stopped pretty much immediately. like, it was so popular, but i haven’t seen a new one in years. imagine fucking up that badly
