Wishing peace, love and happiness for all who wander this holiday season, the coming new year and the years to follow!
THE PRINCIPLE OF RHYTHM.
"Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates." — The Kybalion.
What many fail to recognize about the Principle of Rhythm is how it points us back to mastery of the self within the cycles. While teaching that tides rise and fall and that the pendulum-swing manifests in everything, it also reminds us that wisdom is found in knowing when to act, when to wait, and when to let go. In other words, the pendulum’s swing is not a punishment; it is the law that ensures balance, growth, and transformation.
While the foolish may fight these cycles, clinging to the rise and fearing the fall, the initiate learns that even descent has its purpose and that mastery is not about escaping Rhythm, but standing in its center where one is no longer enslaved by moods, seasons, or fortune.
The Circle
Symbolism is the mother of all languages and when it's understood that all symbols are but keys, extensions of a great law and truth, one begins to develop the vision which enables them to penetrate the veil. Through contemplation and meditation upon a mystical symbol or word, a sort of cosmic attunement is established and experienced by the inner faculties.
The circle, revered as sacred within almost all cultures is one of the most ancient, universal symbols representing or relating to God as observed the world over. The circle has also long been a symbol of infinity, wholeness, unity, completion, eternity and perfection.
A circle has 360 degrees. (3 + 6 + 0 = 9). 3 is the only number that equals the sum of all preceding numbers (0 + 1 + 2 = 3). When 3 is added to itself (3+3=6) you get 6, the first perfect number. Perfect numbers are rare and of the perfect numbers recognized by the ancient Greeks: 6 – 28 – 496 – 8,128 and 33,550,336, it’s interesting to note that beyond 6, the sums all equal 10 which represents the circle in numerology. The number 10 also reduces down to the number 1 (1+0=1), and like the circle, represents both a beginning and an end.
The circle is also associated with the “void”, representing the space before anything existed. Out of this void emerged the yin and yang, the feminine and masculine, rotating together to begin the formation of our universe.
Or as it manifests in Christianity, God is the alpha and the omega (the beginning and the end). On the 6th day God created animals and man, Adam and Eve, masculine and feminine. Eve was fashioned from Adams rib (3+3=6). 6 is the atomic number for carbon, a primary component not just of man but of all known life. Christ is the light and Lucifer is the Prince of darkness. Christ is a part of the trinity, 3. While Lucifer (Light-Bringer) was in antiquity a name for Venus before it was absorbed into Christianity as a name for the devil, often poetically personified as heralding the dawn. The number 6 is the symbol of Venus and 666 is the number and mark of the beast. “Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666” -Revelation 13:18. And just as 333 and 666 both equal 9, Christ and Lucifer are both “the morning star”.
3 and 6, Yin and Yang, Christ and Satan, light and dark, good and evil, they are all equally necessary parts of the whole. The Universe moves to its own rhythm and is in perfect balance and harmony. This is why when we take it upon ourselves to right perceived wrongs, or fight “evil”, or other equally futile pursuits, we are going against the natural flow and order of existence and will inevitably experience suffering as a result.
“We are all broken, that’s how the light gets in.”
What you are living is the evidence of what you are thinking and feeling, every single time.
On the surface this adage, known to us now as Segal's law due to miscommunication and misquotes, highlights the illusion of certainty that arises when information is derived from a single source and points out the potential pitfalls of having too much conflicting information. The underlying message of course being to question the apparent certainty of anyone who only has one source of information as the man with one watch has no way to identify error or uncertainty.
