Probably the last tried and true lip collection.
Seeing several big cosmetics companies phase out some of their lipsticks (Urban Decay, Mac etc), has made people look into L’Oréal and Revlon.
I am a long time user of both, and going back to these lip lines is a mix of nostalgia and memories. I think I may have found my junior prom lipstick. L’Oréal was my first intro to makeup. The scent never bothered me. It made me feel sophisticated and grown-up.
I remember wearing frosty pink but that was Dior. Which was senior prom makeup.
I’m seeing classic colors go viral on social media. Young makeup fans getting into L’Oréal and Revlon. There are classics in the line but can be worn with new freshness.
Ballerina Shoes: light warm yellow pink
Tickled Pink: frosted blue pink
At first glance, the two frosted pinks look identical. But upon closer look, you can see the warm and cool tone differences.
Blue- pink will always make teeth look whiter. If you have the slightest yellow* which is natural color of the dentin, you might like Tickled Pink better. (*especially if you drink coffee, tea and other dark beverages).
I haven’t worn these shades yet. I’m just in the collecting and sniffing phase now. It’s part of my recovery efforts from serious medical injury.
As with all lipsticks, your lip undertone and skin pH will determine what a lipstick shade will look like on your lips. So while one shade may look spectacular on that blonde, it may not look spectacular on you. I see blondes tend to prefer baby pinks and soft browns. At least from seeing several TikTok videos.
Now I need to find my senior prom lipstick. Which was Dior. Yes I still have some old makeup. It’s part of my makeup history. A little memory I keep.
Also connecting with my mom who passed away. She wore Revlon’s Toast of New York and SilverCity Red aka Softsilver Red.
