We are a ticking time bomb that is taking too long to explode. It is only a matter of time before reality catches up with us.
I would love to take a little peek into your soul to see even the littlest bit of you Know that even in the dim light I will be thankful and just enthralled completely by the privilege that you allowed me to meet the person you are when naked.
So we're in Japan. That happened.
Step one is realism.
Step two is idealism, because reality is far too fucked up to stay that way. Is mankind doomed to such an existence? Are we doomed to be hopeless, our fates decided by all who came before?

The Seasons and Quarters and Moons of a Life
It's always interesting to read old posts on my blog or on Facebook because it's amazing to see how 2012 me speaks and talks differently than 2013 me, and people might say that's really bad because of the usual "don't change" crap people keep giving each other, but... I don't know. I sound so different. You can be at any point in your life and just look back to who you were and what you were doing and what and who you were doing it for and, I don't know if it's just in my case, but the year-ago me is always like a child.
I just sound so different. #firstworldproblems all the way. There's so many things to think about and care about and I thought and cared about the most useless things for the most part. I still do now. I think about losing my phone and wish, really wish, that I had a new phone, the latest kind, and I just it's not a need but a want but I still want it.
I wonder if I'll get more selfish or more selfless. It really seems reasonable to be either one. The smarter you are the more you can rationalize any stupid decision, and so to be either one seems perfectly rational, until you finally settle on one and won't consider any other way.
I don't know where I am going with this.
But 2012 me just sounds so different!
disorganized thoughts on a thesis reviewing break
I know how we should love and develop Filipino and all, but fuck I love the English language, with its rich vocabulary, dynamic and ever-changing, improved by all the peoples of the world who speak it.
Shii. Imperialist US dominating even the means of communication. Now we associate, and not without reason, intelligence with eloquence in English, since it is mostly the elite and the learned who speak it. They have poorest countries contributing to the growth of the language. We all speak it. We even make efforts to integrate it into our own, thus <Filipino panlapi> + <verb>.
Do linguistics majors weep?
Anyway, so tomorrow's our thesis presentation. God don't make me retake this course next sem. Don't give me an incomplete either. Let this enddd.
In life, there are no do-overs.
It's been over a year since I seriously and consistently blogged. It's a shame. There have been quite a number of travels this 2013 and it went undocumented. Perhaps I'll write a catch-up post soon. Let's see.
Sagada, 2013.

Some things are just too difficult to leave behind.
Guess who backslid again?! I'm back on Tumblr!
See, I haven't blogged for months on Wordpress, or on any platform for that matter, and I'm trying to get back to it. Since this Tumblr has always been my baby, I shall try to get back to blogging by doing it here! Hopefully this attempt will be successful.

If it is, soon you'll see photos of our most recent trips to two new destinations: Vietnam and Sagada. Huzzah! Also, I'll copy everything and post it on Wordpress and... blog there forever as planned.

A Post With Barely Any Sense
Wow! I haven't logged into Tumblr since forever. And wow, what is this Facebook-like thing in place of the usual text editor page? Is there a way to get to that? Or do people blog like this all the time now? I feel like I'm making a status update.
As some of you may have noticed or have not given a fuck about, I moved to Wordpress, yeay! Which failed a little, since for some reason I lost the motivation to write things and post photos. Maybe that's what happens when the blog title is no longer 'I write things and post photos.'.
I have absolutely no point in writing this.
But oh how I missed tumblr.
I'll make a little joke for you guys.
Why did the idiomatically-challenged sad guy commit suicide by hanging himself?
Someone gave him this advice: "Hang in there."
[Photoshoot] "Hey the weather's nice let's go take some photos on the grass and trees over there!"
After days of non-stop rain, the sun peeked from behind the clouds for us on that great Sunday afternoon.

[A Photo Post] Rawr! My own photo makes me crave those hot & spicy Korean noodles!
Like people, some food / food arrangements are so photogenic they turn out to be beautiful though they are not that great-looking in real life. Because of that, I want some of those Korean noodles now - spicier and very hot.

If mainstream films treat the audience like they are idiots, indies make me wonder if I am.
Seriously though, indie films are proof there's more to the Philippine cinema than overused plots. They aren't exactly 'for fun' type of movies, not ideal for times when you just want to turn your brain off and be entertained. They're really good though. A different kind of good.
Attending Cinemalaya is one of those things I've always wanted to do but never really made time for. This year, I decided I'd make time for at least a few films that seemed really interesting: Sta. Nina and Shorts A. Life happened and I ended up watching way way more! So thankful to my mom for accompanying me for days! And to Jem, for watching some films with me. And to Jela, who I ran into in CCP!
Among the films I've seen, there's a few I really really liked. For the new breed, REquieme! and Sta. Nina. They can both go commercial, I think. For shorts, I love Ruweda, As He Sleeps, and Balintuna. For the director's showcase, Mga Mumunting Lihim and Kamera Obskura were both awesome. The former will be screened in cinemas nationwide.
Also, I just have to say, The Animals is worth watching despite its bad cinematography. It's really powerful. I don't know if it's just me. Reviews say it's all style and no substance. Maybe I just haven't seen enough films of the same kind.
YAY INDIES!
Side note: I talked to Joey Reyes! I just said hi, didn't ask to have a photo taken. I looked haggard, he seemed tired, and the lens I had with me is the 50mm one. I was really thrilled though! YAYYY!
For those who think they missed their chance to watch this year's Cinemalaya, there is hope with Cinemalaya Goes UP! Until the 14th of August, some of the films will be showcased at the UP Cine Adarna. Go here for more information. :)
Next year, I'll do my best to make time for Cinemalaya again!
