They had been happy once, he was sure of it.
Well at least as happy as men like them could ever be.
He didnāt know where it had all gone so wrong.
Theyād been happy.
It was only meant to be a simple mission.
Retrieve an artifact, then return to their shuttle and the Finalizer.
But something had gone wrong.
The Resistance had been waiting for them and now he was here. Shoved into a dingy cell in the depths of a Resistance base on some unknown planet.
He didnāt know where Kylo was.
His alpha, his mate, his emotional whirlwind.
Heād not seen him since heād left their shuttle without even a kiss goodbye.
Hux had forgiven him at the time, after all, as far as anyone knew he was an alpha. His omega genes mostly suppressed with pills and perfumes. No one knew theyād bonded, and Hux was loathe to lose face in front of mere troopers.
But now he started to wonder about it.
Heād been in this cell for close to three months, if his calculations were correct. The windowless box he languished in seemed to have its lights on a set timer, mimicking night and day cycles. His only āhuman contactā came twice during the day cycle when nutrient packets were shoved through an open slot at the bottom of the door. Not a word was spoken and the door never opened.
Heād worried at first when the time for his heat neared, heād tugged on their bond. His weak omega needs getting the better of him as he silently begged for Kylo to answer him. But nothing came, their bond was blocked, muted.
Curling up on the hard cot, Hux shivered, quiet whimpers slipping without his permission from his lips as he waited for the inevitable.
But the inevitable never came.
Heād been relieved at first, believing that the stress of being captured had put a halt on his biological needs.
Now he knew better.
Humming quietly under his breath, Hux trailed his fingers over the slowly growing curve of his belly. He wanted to be angry, to rail at a galaxy that let this happen, wanted to curse his absent alpha. But if he concentrated, he could feel their fluttering movements, and could no longer find the energy for anger.
He just wanted Kylo.
Tugging on their bond again, Hux ignored the tear that slipped down his cheek at the nothingness that answered him.
He wanted to go home.
āYou should be sorry.ā Hux kept stroking his hair.
Ben looked up towards their eyes with glassy tear-filled eyes. āWhat can I do,ā he sobbed continuously.
āYou can give me time. Iām not going to forgive you for a while.ā
Ben gripped the blanket by the fistful and glanced down. āYes, of course. But Armitage...ā he bit his bottom lip.
āWhat?ā
āPlease do not contact the Order. Please. Donāt give them the coordinates, help us destroy themā
Hux sighed. āIāll think about it. But thereās nothing for me here. I want to go back to my ship, where people appreciate me.ā
āThatās not true!ā His head quickly shot up to instantly glance into their sapphire eyes. āBack on the Finalizer no one is truly appreciated!ā
āAt least people donāt hate me there. I donāt belong with people Iāve tried to exterminate.ā
Ben shook his head and took their hand into his own hands. āWe can get through it together. Iāve killed more than enough to count from the resistanceās side.ā
Hux sighed. āIāll think about it.ā
āThink about the new life that we can forge together!ā He looked at the otherās hand, stroking it gently. āUntil you come over, you will be supervised.ā
āI will.ā He nodded. āAll right.ā
āAre you hungry? Do you want anything?ā He asked kissing the pale and clammy hands. He knew they didnāt want him around right now.
āI am hungry.ā
āWhat would you like to eat? I can get access into anything if you want.ā He reached his hand up and softly caressed their cheek.
āI think some eggs.ā
Ben nodded then stood up, leaning down to give him a soft kiss upon his forehead. He walked over to the door and looked at them over his shoulder. āAny specific way?ā
āScrambled.ā
āWould you like anything to drink?ā He asked, hovering his hand over the scan pad.
āSome brandy.ā
Ben didnāt think alcohol was the best solution for the male, but he didnāt argue. He nodded then left the room.
Hux watched him leave, sighing to himself.
Ben made his way down to the mess hall, stopping at kitchen. He decided to make the eggs himself. Not that difficult, right?
