“Of course,” Verval answered, nodding. It was obvious that they were waiting for Viktor to lead the way.
They weren’t very sure of what had just happened. The Herald looked… well, with an expressionless mask it could have been any emotion, but he had looked shocked? Disturbed?
Verval wondered why a man of science - a man of Zaun - would be disturbed at their appearance. Surely he had seen far worse.
As Viktor lead them outside, followed by few acolytes. The guards in the hallways wanted to jump Verval, but upon seeing their Herald was quite calm around the undead they backed away. The acolytes following them were confused too by this unusual interaction, however they wouldn’t dare question it.
Once outside the halls of the laboratory Viktor just waited for Verval to go out for he planned to leave them there and just lock the laboratory, making sure that the undead won’t follow inside again. He wasn’t going to reveal information about anyone without their approval, and certainly not to a supernatural creature.
“Here we are.”
Viktor said slowly eyeing Verval before he took few steps back. Luckily the acolyte’s gossip reached Alexandra’s ears for she was in the laboratory and unfortunately missed the walk down the hallways. Upon hearing the words ‘undead’ she could guess who it was so she went to investigate.
Verval turned to face the retreating cyborg, remaining eye squinted. Why would a man walk away when he was supposed to supply them with information?
“Why are you leaving?” they asked, taking a few steps towards Viktor. “You aren’t supposed to leave.”
They grabbed at his cape and pulled him back outside.
