Post Breakup Regrets
I guess it's probably that time when I can look back at everything that happened and say, "Wow. That was a huge fucking mistake. I probably shouldn't have done that."
Up until this point I felt like the experience was okay overall, yeah he was pretty shitty at times and so was I, yadda yadda, but you know, hey, I should look at it as a positive experience. One I can learn from, grow from, and make my myself a better person to be with in a relationship in the future.
Now I am starting to see what everyone else had seen before. The layers unfold and continue to unfold, not just like an onion, that would be too simple, but almost like a treetrunk. So tough to get to the core. He's like that. So utterly manipulative, so utterly confusing, that it was impossible for me to logically think my way through it all. No matter what I did, I could always talk myself into not letting him go or why I should let him go. Taking advice from every which way. Parents, friends, counselors, adult allies.... All pointed to the same answer: I should break it off.
I fought them all. I fought them so hard. Because, well, I like to be right, don't we all? But I was so sure that I was. I was willing to take him and completely reshape him, force him to change who he was, so I could prove a point to everyone around me. That this relationship was a good one. This relationship was one that both of us fought for each other and were able to be successful with one another.
And it worked. It worked for about a few weeks. When he'd realized he was going to lose me, he held on so hard, claimed he'd do whatever I needed him to, as long as it meant that I'd stay. What did this involve, you might ask? Well, you know, holding my hand, paying more attention to me, not calling me a bitch, you know. The normal shit you're supposed to do when you're in a relationship that he couldn't even grasp. See the funny thing is is that he's from Alabama & watched his parents in a completely backward relationship. So what did he know about treating a girl right? He's young too, right? And a guy, I mean how much can we expect these dimwits to know? In the end, he had thought that these simple things, such as being loyal for instance, was a big thing and that he had sacrificed SOO much for me and I was the bad guy. It's not like I couldn't go down the list of shit that I've done for him, right? But don't we always love to play the victim.
I can't stop my mind from going over little, minute details. Things I could've done better. And not for him, but for me. I cast myself out to a harsh storm, so to speak, flapping about, getting picked up and thrown down in a continuous manner.
I should've done better for myself, keeping my guard up at all times and my knowledge clenched tightly to my chest so as to protect my heart.
Procrastination.
Hi. I've been sitting at my desk for the past two hours attempting to study for my Human Biology pre-final tomorrow. I haven't read the two chapters that it's supposed to be based on. I attempted to read Ch. 11 The Nervous System: Integration and Control, but so far I've read 4 pages in these two hours. This is probably due to Facebook + Youtube. But honestly, I'm really trying! I meditated this morning for 30 minutes! I wrote lists of things! I played these brain games that are supposed to enhance your attention span and whatnot.
No matter what I do I can't seem to focus!!! I keep trying to exit out of Facebook but I can't...it's swallowing me........i'm melting......i can't breathe..... Facebook's smothering me!! Help!!... (I may be tad bit overreacting)
I mean come on, let's face it people, action potentials are a tad boring....
It would be very nice to own something Burberry.
Witch Hazel.
LOOK IT'S MEE! I'm the Golden Pig.
I'd switch sides for this woman.

DO NOT TEXT AND DRIVE or I WILL BRING SHAME UPON YOU
I will NEVER be as terrible a driver as my father. I don't mean to disrespect an elder, so don't get the impression that I'm just a whiny, snobby brat whose dad wasn't skillful enough to turn into the Dairy Queen fast enough to get my milkshake. In fact, I am talking about something else here.
I just turned 16 on Friday. And lately, I've been paying more attention to the road. Signs, lights, dangers, pedestrians...especially with the online drivers ed I'm doing (which I should've been done with 6 months ago, but that's besides the point), I have become far more aware of my surroundings.
I have to tell you, YOU, either the you reading this or the you, me, I'm typing this to, that I am terribly, utterly, completely frightened of texting and driving. My fear of this may be just as bad as my arachnophobia. Every time I jump into that white Cadillac Escalade with my iPod, my phone, and a summer reading book, I notice that my dad is constantly juggling the steering wheel and his phone! I am not using the word constantly as an exaggeration!! Literally, I always see him looking up from his phone, to the road, texting, road, texting... And in my mind I'm like...What're you gonna do if someone just cuts us off? What if a cow jumps in the middle of the road like 50 first dates? What if somebody runs a red light or blows a tire?
Now. I may sound like some crazy, paranoid freak, as this fear is probably a really safe and healthy fear to have - like who has those these days anyway? But get this: So i'm sitting in the ER on Sunday in Jasper, Texas for my birthday weekend. What happened you may ask? Well...Thursday night, I could not stop scratching my left forearm and realized that a rash was breaking out there. It was really itchy, uncontrollably - and I never get rashes so it was unlikely I was allergic to anything. Well, the rash spread...EVERYWHERE. Except my face and the palms of my hands and feet, which is very lucky. Then my throat started hurting really bad, painfully bad. So I had strep. Probably from the flight here to Louisiana from Cali. Ok so back to the ER: I see this young girl crying, looking really stressed, talking to other women around her thanking them, saying she was so lucky that they were there for her. Apparently she had gotten into a huge wreck and the entire front part of her car was missing. She couldn't stop kissing her boy on the head and hugging him and saying how much she loved him. I'd be willing to bet good money that she was either on the phone or texting when that happened.
After I got two huge shots in my bum, one penicillin and one steroids, I began to feel better almost immediately. In the car, on the ride home, I blew up at my dad for texting and driving. Something may never happen to us. There may never be a close call and I may never get to say to him "I told you so." But the statistics say otherwise.
I'm sorry. I just think life is way too rich and I think I have so much more shit I need to do before I get offed in the most un-original way possible.
