Roku 4K vs Bluray 4K
Roku 4K vs Bluray 4K
Things are starting to get real interesting in the world of home theater.
With 4K Bluray out in the market with more and more players being readied for the market, Roku announced a whole bunch of players including models that do 4K and HDR. It looks like streaming is trying to take physical media head on.
First off let me say that I totally recognize the the advantages of physical media, but the…

Should the Nintendo NES be considered retro?
Should the Nintendo NES be considered retro?
I keep wondering to myself “What is classified as Retro when it comes to gaming?”, its a term we use quite a bit but seem to have a hard time trying to define it. The term “Retro” tends to apply to things that began or were popular about 15-20 years ago, so this begs the question… “what about things from 30 years ago or longer?”.
I tend to approach this subject the same way I see music, we have…

What is your favorite Gene Wilder movie?
What is your favorite Gene Wilder movie?
I really think that Gene Wilder had such diverse acting skills and appeared in a wide variety of movies that everyone has their own favorite movie or moment. It is sad that we recently had to lose such a brilliant actor and human being, yet we are all happy to have been blessed with so many great an memorable films that we shall never forget him.
In my case if I had to pick my favorite film…

What video game system did you first own?
What video game system did you first own?
For me, the Intellivision was the system I grew up with and still favor over others today. The graphics were much more colourful than some of it’s competitors and the games were a lot more simple to play. I still to this day play “Advanced Dungeon & Dragons” and “Utopia”, two great games that really showed the true potential of the system.
It wasn’t until later when I got the Commodore…

“The library” is a spare bedroom upstairs and stores the collectibles and the movies. The DVD section has recently been downsized. I’m considering ripping and selling the rest off and keeping only Blu Ray.

what is your favorite car from a Movie or show?
what is your favorite car from a Movie or show?
There is no doubt that the reason my favorite car is a DeLorean (and the fact that I own one) is becasue the movie “Back to the Future”. I even noticed that many DeLorean owners had the same reason, and some even go through the trouble of converting their car to look like the one in the movie.
There seems to be quite a lot of people that have chosen a particular vehicle based on the movie or show…

What is your Favorite John Candy Movie?
What is your Favorite John Candy Movie?
John Candy represented the 80’s to me as far as movies were concerned. Sure I had my share of horror flicks and actions, but when it came to good ole fashion movies… nothing beat a John Candy classic. I remember many times as a kid watching “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” and laughing my ass off, I even chose it as a birthday party rental to watch with my friends all night!
Too many classics…

Fan Expo 2016: The Awakening
Awakening
On September 1, 2016 my daughter and I ventured out to downtown Toronto for the biggest Con in Canada. The best part of this trip was watching Fan Expo through my daughter’s eyes. It was her first time, and this was my third. The Awakening has begun.
Immense!
First off let me say this, since the last time I was there, the Con has doubled in size taking over the two biggest halls in the…
