Hello! I started collecting Marina stuff about a year or two ago, but stopped for awhile because I got ruthlessly judged for spending so much money on some artist rather than "more important things." It was actually your blog that inspired me to start up collecting again. I can only hope to have a collection as impressive as yours one day lol. Wow! Thanks! I mean, it does cost a bit of money but don’t ever let anyone else decide what’s important to you. Everyone has that one ‘thing’ that they would spend their extra money on: shoes, clothes, cars, guns, whatever. For you and me, it’s music. I don’t know why I’m driven to collect but I am and I enjoy it and only I get to decide what makes me happy 😉

Hello there, I have my own Marina collection as well, though not nearly as impressive as yours. Anyway, I'm looking to add to my collection one of Marina's "mermaid vs sailor" CDs. I understand that they're SUPER rare (roughly 70 copies). Can you tell me where to look for one? Also, how much could I expect to pay for one, i'm guessing several hundred easily? One more thing, could there be any fakes out there I should watch out for, I don't want to spend several hundred $ on a counterfeit.

Hi! So, yes, there were only about 70-ish copies that she made and there are lots of counterfeits. Recently I had to report a Russian seller on eBay selling fakes. Sadly I think he actually sold the fakes (twice) for several hundred each. I would say you should carefully examine and match the handwriting. It's very hard to really fake a persons exact handwriting and on the counterfeits you'd could easily see (if you were actually looking) that it wasn't her handwriting. You can also have the seller tell you the cd runout code. They would almost all be from a similar batch of CDs. I know my copies match another friends for example. As far as getting a copy, you have to be diligent and watch eBay and discogs. I would expect to pay from 500-600 (or more) for a legitimate copy. Hope that helps!

Hey there, I like your blog, i'm a huge Marina fan myself. A couple questions for ya. #1- how many items do you have that Marina either personally autographed and/or hand-made herself? #2- how many items do you have all together in this huge collection? #3- were you ever lucky enough to actually meet Marina in person?

Thanks! Let's see... Signed items, 6 or 7 I think (?) Im sitting in bed trying to think of them all. As for handmade, I have 2 mermaid vs Sailor CDs and 2 shirts she made. The whole collection... I'm not sure, if I had to guess maybe around 170 or 180 pieces? I've been meaning to post an entire collection pic soon. And sadly, I've never met her. She's never come out at one of my shows, and she cancelled the meet and greets two days before my shows on neon nature lol (not that I would have won them).
