4 beautiful charities to donate to before Christmas
Hello Beauty Lovers, have you finished your Christmas shopping yet? If not, don't worry – there's still time! What's one of the best ways to finish up your Holidays prep and wrap a year? By donating to a child-focused non-profit organization, of course :-) That way, you can feel good knowing that your donation is going to help make a difference in people's lives. So why not donate before Christmas this year? It'll make your holiday season that much brighter!
Send an Emergency Birth Kit now - unfpa.org
Cute little BoBo - Photo from unfpa.org
Although it is 2021, women all over the world are still forced to give birth under challenging conditions. UNFPA organization delivers Emergency Birth Kits that can save their lives. The kits contain supplies that perhaps, we usually do not give enough credit for. Such as soap and a sterile plastic sheet which can help prevent infection from being spread during childbirth. I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that infection during childbirth is the leading cause of maternal mortality, globally. It's remarkable what a difference can soap, sterile sheets, and clean water make.
You can send one and more Emergency Birth Kits, complete with bandages or other necessities specific to new moms in need by supporting UNFPA.
Every amount can make a difference
Your donation will support UNFPA in its commitment to save and protect women, girls everywhere. For every dollar, you donate (92 cents go directly towards programs!), the organization and its remembers work hard at keeping administrative costs low - so that way more of your contribution can go toward the cause!
One Emergency Birth Kit is only 4€ - if you can please donate today!

For all Dutch friends - Stichting Kinderfondsen Nederland (SKN)

Stichting Kinderfondsen Nederland supports Dutch kids living under the poverty line. When deciding to donate you can decide to which part of the kid's development you would love to donate. SKN covered offers helps in organizing various activities, such as playtime, assistance with learning and getting active sports time, and completing swimming lessons.
The donation option is available on the website with the iDeal payment gate - so it might be the best option for my colleagues living in the Netherlands who would love to help before holiday time.
Transparency is important
I appreciate that SKN keeps its record and organized events known and shares the yearly overview on their website. Based on their estimations the 81 cents from every euro goes to help kids. You can also bring smiles to kids' faces today!

Donate to prevent malaria - Malaria Consortium

Malaria is a preventable and treatable disease. Yet, every year hundreds of thousands of, mostly pregnant women and children, die because of it. Malaria Consortium and their Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) have very strong reporting on the progress and the effectiveness of their work. Consortium helps also aid other diseases, as well as offers support in creating legislation and conducting research.
As I am writing this article, GiveWell ranks the SMC program as charity no.1 to support:
Seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) involves giving children under the age of 5 full malaria treatment courses intermittently during the malaria season. In general, we focus our discussion on work similar to that of Malaria Consortium’s SMC program (one of our top charities).GiveWell about the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention program
20 million children reached
The impressive reach the SMC managed to achieve throughout the years is still just a drop in the ocean. Donate to SMC so they could easily scale up their operations and save more lives. If you can, please help today.

If you wish to support the entire family to have an easier life, the GiveDirect organization might be the good choice for you. Your donations are shared with the ones who need them most, so they can solve the issues they face at the moment. Throughout the years, organizations carried out multiple studies on where the donated money was mostly spent. The necessities include medicine, cows, goats and chickens, school fees, water, solar lights, tin roofs, irrigation, businesses to generate income, and many more.
GiveDireclty currently runs four programs:
- Basic income program in Kenya
- Refugee relief for Uganda
- Support cash relief for U.S.
- "In Her Hands" guaranteed income program supporting Black women in Georgia, U.S.
If you want to support peoples freedom and personal agency - this one is for you!
GiveDirect has a very research-based approach. They investigate how long-term basic income (income created from the donated money) affects people's lives without enforcing s... on them. Because, if you are willing to give, share your money, why do you care if a lady/man gets himself a loaf of bread of new flip-flops? Yes, you do you, right?
