Tansy was quite different from her brothers, Theseus who was very proper and professional, a powerful and well-known auror who held the family name at high standards, then dear sweet Newton (her favorite brother) who was rather reserved and genius, who busied himself with his care for magical creatures and finishing up the book he’d been writing for most of his life. Tansy shared traits with them both she thought but was something else entirely. She had excelled in divination, some would say she had the skills of a true seer, though she preferred using her powers for simple house tricks and palm readings. She had no desire to make a career for her gifts, no desire to do much of anything except live life to it’s fullest, but as of lately she enjoyed spending her time in the company of Credence Barebone, a powerful newly descovered wizard she had met when she accompanied her brother Newt on his trip to New York. Now she served as a sort of tutor to him while Newt worked, but she was much more than that now.
“You know maybe one day you and I can visit my little flat in London,” The girl mused, fingers plucking at the button-shaped golden flowers that grew around her and her companion, “Newt says you’re improving rapidly, says it’s astonishing really, how much you’ve learned and retained since we started the lessons.” Her dark eyes flickered up to meet his, smiling softly when he turned his gaze away from her. It didn’t bother her any longer, she understood how hard it was for him, but along with his magic, Credence had improved quite a bit socially as well.
The redhead giggled, leaning forward now, resting her hands on his thighs gently and pressing a soft, sweet kiss to the boy’s mouth, nuzzling his nose when she pulled away, “Wouldn’t that be fun? We could even go to Diagon alley again,” Tansy smiled brightly, staying very close to him, a hand leaving his thigh to tuck a few loose curls behind her ear, “Maybe we can even get you a broom and practice flying.”
Life with the Scamanders was far different from the life he’d lived back home in New York. Back there, he had lived in fear, in pain, and in shame for the ability he possessed, and, according to the ministry, he possessed quite an ability. So much so that he was now officially under surveillance, though he wasn’t complaining at all. Those meant to watch him were the people he had grown comfortable with, a new family that didn’t cause him to cower in fear and instead helped him work with the monster that rattled about inside the cage of his bones, bursting to the brim with power no sane person should be allowed to carry within them. Maybe it helped that he wasn’t entirely sane.
Broken from his thoughts, honey gold eyes turned to meet the beauty that was Tansy Scamander. Sometimes he couldn’t believe she was even real, she was so beautiful. To Credence, it seemed like she glowed with nothing but the pureness of her soul. Her smile was radiant, her hair as fiery red as the setting sun over the mountains of Dorset. Credence almost couldn’t bear to look at her, and when she met his gaze, he didn’t hold it. Instead he turned his cheek, a habit he’d yet to break from his days under his mother’s strict and painful thumb. Tansy didn’t seem bothered, knowing now that it was simply something Credence couldn’t control. He listened to her speak, her voice like a chorus of seraphims to his ears.
He only looked at her when she rested her hands on his thighs, accepting the kiss she placed on his lips. He’d lost count of how many times she’d kissed him by now, but each time made his heart race and cheeks flush as if it were the first time. He nodded at her words, eyes flicking about her face, never quite meeting the soothing brown irises that set his nerves on fire. “I liked Diagon Alley,” he murmurs, eyes downcast now to were one hand rested on his thigh. “I don’t know about flying,” he hesitated, eyes flicking up to hers for a brief moment. “It seems a bit dangerous doesn’t it? Newt always mentions accidents during.. quid.. Quidditch?”
