I just realized how many mom points I lost by never letting the girls watch Home Alone. We are snuggled up with some fuzzy blankets, hot chocolate and lots of giggles. I'm sure we will watch it at least a couple few times tomorrow too 🙄

It's just a few minutes until I turn 41. I've got my littlest snoring in my arms, my oldest snuggling with her daddy, and I'm keeping tradition. Every year since my first birthday as Mrs. Myers, I watch The Family Stone. Always on my birthday. It never gets old. It sends me into full on Holiday mode, and it's just.so.great. Did you know there's a killer recipe on the DVD for Meredith's Strata recipe? I've made it several times and it's ridiculous. 11 birthdays now....and I've watched it so many more times than I can count, but it's my go to movie. Tonight, I'm missing my Grandma Hilda, wishing my Grandma Christine would get well real quick, hoping my Papa Gardner stays well and praying for a safe weekend for all my friends and families in the path of Matthew. We celebrated this lady's birthday last night at my house. My sweet Grandma Christine is so sassy. She always has been. Sadly, her mind isn't as sharp as it was, but her heart is bigger this ever. It's hard watching those we love grow older. It's even harder when they sometimes can't remember your name. I know she knows I'm her "knee baby" I know she knows she's loved. I just wish she could communicate it to us. She's one of the two grandparents I am still blessed to have left and I'm so glad my girls know their Grandma 'Tine and have memories with her. Having her in my home and surrounded by all her children (and grand babies) made us all happy. ❤️

There's a song in the movie "How to lose a guy in 10 days" called "Feels Like Home" and it's always been a favorite of mine for many reasons. It's sweet, it's a song about love and comfort and the safety of love. I see this picture and it's the first thing that comes to mind. There's something in his eyes that makes me want to get lost in them. Something in his voice that makes my heart beat fast. He feels like home to me. He's not always perfect but he's always right for me. He's always right for our girls. Tonight at the Pirates Voyage, there were a few times that little Claire bear got scared. Normally, she's a mommas girl....but tonight she nestled in her Daddy's arms for security and as I looked over to see it, I couldn't help but feel giddy to see my baby girl and my sweet CJM snuggled up enjoying the show. He's our safety. He's our happiness. He's our home. He's where I belong. #myersfamof4
