Jurni grew up in Detroit, Michigan with her mother and father. She was the only child of the family but she was definitely not spoiled. They were a middle class family; her parents worked nine to five jobs all her life. During the summer her parents sent her to visit her grandparents who lived in Myrtle Beach, She spent her days as a child down at the beach with her grandmother or on her grandfather’s boat. At night her grandmother would teach her the secret recipes of the family. Jurni loved the summers at the beach and as she got older she was able to explore more of it. When she got into high school, she didn’t stay long during the summer, she had her own life back in Detroit, a boyfriend, and school to worry about. By senior year, Jurni had stopped going to visit her grandparents, she felt bad about it but she didn’t have time. Her parents were pressuring her into applying to colleges she didn’t even know if she wanted to go too, her life was a mess and she didn’t know where it was going. She took two years off of school to try and figure out what she wanted to do. Half way through freshmen year of college, Jurni decided she didn’t want to go to school anymore and she didn’t want a mediocre job. Right around this time her grandmother past away, Jurni and her parents went back down to Myrtle Beach to clean out her grandparent’s house, sell it, and bring her grandfather back to Detroit so her parents could take care of him. While she was out there, all her childhood memories rushed back to her; times were so much simple back than. Jurni ended up going to a concert for a big local band she had heard about, she always had an ear for music. She was front row at the small venue for the band and locked eyes with the lead singer, Tristan Jackson. Jurni wasn’t one to believe in love at first site but the butterflies were there and if she hadn’t turned her head away, her pale skin would have turned bright red. She ended up meeting him and becoming friends with occasional drunken hook ups. After that summer she started going back every year and that was the only time she talked to Tristan. Jurni was busy with her own life in Detroit, going to a trade school to learn skin care and taking care of her grandfather and he was busy touring with his band. Whenever she came back to Myrtle Beach, it was like they had never been apart, Tristan had told her that he had feelings for her but she was so unsure with how she felt about him and about the lifestyle she would be living. This back and forth summer thing went on for three years, she finally decided to move to Myrtle Beach to be with Tristan permanently. At the age of 25, she left her family in Detroit and moved to Myrtle Beach, she was scared but excited at the same time, she knew that Tristan was the one she wanted to be with and it was a risk worth taking.
