The people ( @the-hapi-dm ) have spoken! This took forever because I kept it in drafts and added to it as I remembered, but its here now! (Under a read more because this is long)
Starting with Ghost, the ghostwise halfling ghostslayer blood hunter! (She/they) She is easily the edgiest dnd pc I've ever made. She is a traumatized, guilty, angry fucker! Her character tenants are "anger issues" "protective" and "self hatred" if catholics existed in dnd she would be one. She has soooo much guilt <3 to be fair, she prolly ought to be guilty for at least some of it, she did some fucked up shit in a fit of emotion. She's heavily inspired by a few past and present blorbos, mainly Jean Valjean (world champion of Christian guilt and self punishing), Vi (angry older sister from Arcane), and Jinx (deeply unwell terrorist /affectionate)
Next are henthorn n rosgur, which are names I made inspired by tolkiens languages. They (loosely) mean "Harpy Eyed" and "Fox Hearted" respectively. I made literally so much lore for the family structure and culture of harengon so there's a whole elaborate system of naming and its also a matriarchy. Henthorn was also loosely based off Harpy Hare by yaelokre (but with certain twists) and she has lost a LOT of people. Her sister was killed, and so were all of her children except for my character Fergenor. Rosgur is a bit sillier but he's sweet, and he wanted to stay to raise fergwnor but Henthorn kicked him out in a fit of paranoia.
So Titania is more or less the same as in-DnD titania, aka a total girl boss high goddess queen. Most of what I messed with her was her relationships actually, and I think I made her more 'human' for lack of a better term, because I wanted her to be a kind queen.
Verenestra I ripped from 2e, and since I built the feywild in this world a bit different (there are 5 courts, the seasonal/seelie courts and the Unseelie court which is locked away) i decided i wanted an archfey to oversee each season (not quite rule, as fey are not super inclined towards government. It's more like,,, the Top Dog, the most powerful, the supervisor?) And I had Verenestra be the princess of Spring! I changed her personality so that she was more mature because I wanted her vibe to be somewhere between daughter and mother. Eldest daughter except she's actually younger. She's also an archfey of Love (all kinds) so she's got some abilities relating to that and is everyone's fave wing woman. She's polyamorous, polygamous, and pan, so she has many MANY lovers. As many fey do, but also she just has like,,, the most. Despite that her closest relationships are her platonic and familial ones.
Nessie! She's a steam genasi (homebrew combo of water and fire Genasi) and horizon walker ranger, part of a group of (mostly women, no men) rangers that protect the seelie courts called the Swanmays. She fights with a Shotgun Axe powered by the steam she generates. The Swanmays were founded by Fionnghuala, the OG Swanmay. They are technically lycanthropes, but that just means that they are shapechangers and they can turn into giant swans! Nessie is the youngest of the swanmays but is also super sweet and fun. She is decently agile and deceptively strong, and enjoys dancing in the woods. She is the love interest/future girlfriend of one of the PCs, Kell. It's a very cute and awkward 'crush at first sight' type thing, which everyone supports but is still in the beginning stages. Nessie basically tells Kell to finish her quest and then join the swanmays. But things have happened, and while I promised not to kill Nessie, I did not promise not to maim her :) but they might traumabond over seeing Kells teammate die brutally? Who knows!
