Naomi woke up to the smell of food cooking and it was only then that she realized how hungry she was. Forcing herself to get up, she didn’t even realize that she wasn’t in her own bed. Walking out of the room, she furrowed her brows as she rubbed at her eyes. “This is...not my apartment...” Naomi finally realized. Her head was killing her and the sunlight coming through wasn’t helping either. “-and you aren’t my brother...” she observed as she walked closer to him. Besides, her brother couldn’t cook without burning the place down and it was all still standing.
“Um,” she started as she lazily took a seat, “Bishop, right? You’re the guy--the bartender.” Naomi stared at him for a split second before she groaned. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me last night. I promise I’m not usually like, well, this.” Motioning to herself, she was practically dying--on the inside, of course--from embarrassment. On the out side, however, she was clearly suffering from a very unfortunate night. As she sat in silence, collecting her thoughts, trying to remember the previous night, she looked at him, watching him cook. “...did we...? We didn’t...”

“Pizza and the celebratory carton of ice cream.” Eleanor added, listening to the other woman. “Crownsville men have quite the competition against those Parisians. I’m not even sure if they’re in the same league. Oh and as far as the leaky faucet goes, I’ve got a guy that can help with that.”
“Yes, ice cream’s even better sometimes.” She smiled. “Right? Well, some of the Crownsville men are pretty pleasing on the eye, but they’re usually all taken. Doesn’t hurt to look though, I suppose.” Naomi nodded. “You do? Could you give me their number? He’d help me out a bunch.”
marleycallahan:
“Pretty damn amazin’, if I do say so myself.” Marley shrugged, offering her friend a smile. “Who says you gotta stop?” She knew how Naomi was in terms of taking care of her brother, though, so she wouldn’t push…but if Naomi really needed the break, she wasn’t going to talk her out of it either. “I know you can, darlin’. I promise Eli will be fine without you for one night…don’t even gotta be a full night. We can walk to my place from here and I’ll even pay for your cab home.” She offered. “I’ve got bubbles…how can you possibly say no to bubbles?”
“Let me just shoot him a quick text--see if he’ll be alright.” Naomi nodded a bit as she texted her brother, hoping he’d be fine and could stay with a friend for the night. “-and now we wait.” Sliding her phone back into her serving apron, she tapped her fingers on the counter. “Bubbles are a girl’s best friend,” she joked. “Where is everyone today? I wanted to make some money. I think I’m at twenty bucks right now.”
Some quiet moments for your ships
Reading together. Gently running their fingers through the other’s hair as they read to them in a soft voice. Silently listening to the other as their voice slowly falls into a natural rhythm and they are immersed in the story they’re bringing to life.
Walking together. Interwoven fingers and shoulders brushing together as they walk. Not even needing to speak, because a simple look or the slightest change in body language is already a conversation.
Sleeping together. Hushed breathing and feather-light touches when one wakes before the other. Rolling over and unconsciously curling closer into each other because even when they sleep, they are in love.
Watching TV together. Volume turned up just enough to be heard without dominating the atmosphere. Absentminded little touches, gentle fingers slowly running over the other’s arm or thigh without realizing it.
Stargazing together. Infinite space spread out above them, little pinpoints of light shining overhead. Hands resting close together, shared body heat warding off the night’s chill. Silent wishes being made in between soft whispers to each other.
elijahparks:
“I may or may not be jealous of your dream. It might be a dream but hey, that’s something that keeps all of us thriving; we’re hopeful. Because those of us who aren’t — We’re eternally doomed,” he stated, shrugging his shoulders. As morbid as his comment was, he still flashed a smile toward her. “Also, if I have to rephrase – I’m jealous of how free you sound in your dream, not the actual, y’know – actions of the dream,” he laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. “At least living with your brother can’t ruin you from having your pizza. That shit is yours, don’t let anyone else touch it,” he chuckled.
“Whoa, dark much? Maybe you should start dreaming of Paris.” She laughed. “I mean, trust me, I have plenty of other dreams and nightmares to balance it all out, so it’s not always sunshine and rainbows and champagne.” Naomi shrugged a bit before laughing lightly. “True, very true.”

Ari couldn’t help but to laugh at the whole situation, even more so because it was absolutely relatable. Going back home to an empty bed wasn’t exactly his favorite version of utopia. His current life sounded nothing like it, in fact, having just abandoned his one and only dream of the New York Ballet Company, and moving to a small southern town, but he had to deal with what he got. He’d always done that. “I think pizza is the one and only true good thing in life. The rest are just banalities. But if you want to use my bathtub any day, feel free to take it.”
“Pizza is just so good, you know? Whoever invented it is the shit.” She grinned. “Well, thank you for the offer, but I don’t want to put you out of a bathtub, too.”
zaneneptune:
“That’s one pretty specific dream.” Zane replies with a soft laugh, shaking his head. “I’d say you and me both, but I do have a man. The other things I don’t have though, so two of three kind of counts, right?”
“What can I say? I know what I want, even in dreams,” she mused. “Man, why is everyone gettin’ some but me?” Naomi frowned slightly before smiling again. “Yeah, hey two out of three is better than nothing.”
“You should go,“ I breathed. “You should definitely go.” “Go here?” His mouth was on my shoulder. “Or here?” It moved up my neck.”

He felt warm and familiar. He felt solid and safe. I wanted to cling to his shirt, bury my face into the warm curve of his neck, and never let go.

“We aren’t just friends. Just friends don’t stare that long. Just friends don’t smile like that. Just friends don’t say the things we say and just friends don’t do the things we do. Just friends… are not what we are.”
