The end of the year is often time for reflection. And whilst I don’t believe in making major changes just for the sake of a New Year, I will be thinking back on my journey over the last 12 months.
So here’s a few things that I’ve learnt, I’ve had fun with and that I’ll be continuing to do going forward.
★ About 5 years ago now I made a resolution not to keep negative people in my life (after giving them 20 chances). I have stuck to this & continue to believe it has improved my life as you never need negativity around you in any form as it does massively slow your progress. Obviously think objectively about this but if someone keeps sending out negative vibes and contributes nothing to your personal growth why hang on?
★ This has been my biggest year yet for mental growth. I can say I didn’t know myself as well as I do now and this is something I will continue to grow on next year without a doubt. I’ve also learned how to deal with others more and understand their motivators and reactors even more. This has been the biggest breath of fresh air in my life and has allowed me to handle so many different situations better than I would have done in my younger years. Oh and with this point comes speak to others more too!
★ I can’t believe I visited 4 different countries this year! I am very humbled by this fact because it’s not something that I would have been able to do before and probably won’t be able to do over the next two years, but this was the most amazing year of travel for me in my life. From Iceland to Italy to Holland to Cuba, each of these places gave me a new perspective of some sort and just solidified my reasons for the need to travel to broaden minds. I will definitely be doing more of this in the future.
★ Love. Love makes you grow full stop, but the love I have for a certain person and for what we can achieve as a team fully flourished these last 12 months. I know I have found someone who deeply cares about every aspect of my life and who I can say that I selflessly feel the same. I put down 80% of my growth this last year not only down to this person but down to our love, understanding and respect for one another.
★ And finally business. I know 2016 is about to be a majorly hectic point in my life, but I am ready more that ever and cannot wait. I feel the last year especially has all been a build up to the year I’m about to embark on. Even down to being made redundant I didn’t take in a negative light, but instead saw as a nudge towards my dream. This time last year I thought I was pretty business-savvy, but as always you can be sure to come back down to Earth with a bump having learned tons more. I’m having a great time doing what I love so far and will keep looking ahead to make my idea into a financially flourishing business.
Bring on the next 12 months and 2016!
