a crude summary of one of my favorite musicals
Mr. Hades is a mighty king Must be making some mighty big deals Seems like he owns everything Kind of makes you wonder how it feels
Among the many amazing aspects of the Hadestown pro-shot, one of my favorites is the way Patrick Pages injury provides an excellent example of how disability does not have to be barrier to musical theatre. The way his injury was presented, especially in Hades and Persephone's dance, shows how with enough care, choreography and blocking can be modified for a disability and still present a beautiful story. In fact, the pro-shot shows how disability can not only be accommodated, but also utilized for characterization and storytelling.
On the road to hell there was a railroad car...
What’s funny is that there’s actually TWO films currently in theaters that are based on Greek mythology, have a diverse cast, historically inaccurate costumes and sets, black actors playing gods, and a trans actor in a prominent role
I love all the little costuming details you can see in the proshot. Hade's having snakeskin arm bands. Eurydice wearing a snake ring on her fingers and a feather in her hair. The coal covering the souls in hadestown. The lace at the end of Eurydices dress, making it look almost tattered. Hermes wing pins, of course. Just so many things you could never catch from the stage
I finished it
I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
Does anyone know what to do about the temperature and also the prices
Me (A time traveler visiting 20-year old Mozart): OK, so, this is called an electric guitar, basically instead of the body functioning as a resonance chamber, it produces music by harnessing the power of lightning. Do you have any other questions?
Mozart (Currently shredding Violin Concerto No. 1 on the guitar, having figured it out within 30 seconds): What other music can be made from harnessed lightning?
Me (Loading up some heavy dubstep): Oh, we're just getting started.
and if i said the twelth doctor?
i feel like im a weird age where i got just a blurry glimpse at the world Before. it used to be cold in the mornings and websites had fun games and the search results showed you what you searched for. covid wasn't a thing. can anybody fucking hear me. did i dream it all????
