A Zeta True: Deb Ensor
Our theme for the 2018–2020 biennium is Be Zetas True. During this first year of the biennium, the 120th year of ZTA, we will introduce a dozen Zetas—one for each decade—who epitomize what it means to “Be Zetas True.” Find all their stories here.

For 40 years, Deb Ensor (Beta Gamma Chapter, Florida State University) was the model for all of us who strive to #BeZetasTrue.
A Leadership Consultant for two years. ZTA Foundation Vice President of Development for 16 years. ZTA Executive Director for nearly 30 years. First female president of the Fraternity Executives Association. A valued confidant of 13 ZTA National Presidents.

Roadtrip to ZTA landmarks

If your summer travels bring you in or near the state of Virginia, consider taking a detour to check out a few Zeta Tau Alpha landmarks in Farmville and Charlotte Court House.

I remember my ZTA preference party like it was yesterday…except, at the time, I had no idea what a “preference party” was, and Greek Life was a foreign, unexplored world to me…
This video is from February 14th 2013: the night we received our bids to become a part of the “new” ZTA Alpha Chapter. Watching it again brings back so many feelings and memories; I instantly felt excitement and curiosity boiling over inside me, as well as disbelief; I could not believe that I had done it; after a year of research on ZTA, anticipating the colonization, and day-dreaming what it would be like to be a re-chartering member, I couldn’t believe the moment had finally come; that I was going to play a role in this part of ZTA history; that I was going to be a Zeta at our Alpha Chapter.
My love for Longwood stretched far and wide before this moment, but joining ZTA gave me a whole new appreciation for my alma mater. As I’ve said before, amongst colleges in Virginia, Longwood is often the underdog, but to many Zetas across the country, Longwood is the historical landmark where their sisterhood was born. Every National Officer and Traveling Leadership Consultant that visited our campus during colonization was so thrilled to walk where our founders once walked; that alone made me realize how lucky I was to join this chapter.
The woman on stage in the video is the late Deb Ensor, who was Zeta Tau Alpha's Executive Director for 29 years. I will always remember her singing to us (…feels like home to me. Zeta’s home to me!), and the excitement in her voice when she told us to reach under our chairs for a surprise (we had no idea we’d be getting our bids that night!).
The journey began 2 years ago today.
Received my bid to join ZTA 6 years ago today! ❤️👑

Home for the Holidays!
It feels so good to finally be home for a little rest, relaxation and reflection. This year, my life has been full of learning moments, changes and many, many “firsts,” all of which ZTA has been a catalyst for. I’ll never know how I got so lucky, but I would be a fool to question it.
Cheers to a bright new year!
