Eleanor Roosevelt gets a glow up ??? Oh my!
SOOOO SPIDER-NOIR IS OUT
let's talk about historical accuracies that I noticed.
Telephones! Hell yeah. Ben has a newer model than Joseph because of course! Even if Ben hasn't been getting jobs for months he's still in a job that overall pays more and he's GOOD at what he does. (Not to talk about the obvious racial pay inequality)
Joseph uses one that was far more common in the early 1900s to 1910! That's OLD by then. Ben has one that's average, (thus expensive), typical rotatory.
Now. Something far more interesting.
Nail polish! 💅✨
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this:
You see??? Half-moons, clean edge nails! Even if it first appeared in the 20s, this design was super popular in 1930 especially! Many theorize it was so chipping wouldn't be as noticeable, which makes sense!
It's trendy and practical at the same time which makes sense for a character like Vera Addison! She doesn't come from money nor socializes with the upper class of society, naturally, she is using what Hollywood stars use! Not to say it also saves money on nail polish itself, which might've been an instinct at that point. She's the newest money there is and styles herself like so
And we see Janet using the same design! See!? Popular. It's a very practical design as I said.
Quick detour about Mrs. Addison and her coat: at this point, even the fur in women's clothes were taxed! At the same time, Vogue said fur tells “the kind of woman you are and the kind of life you lead”. So hey, look! She got a fur coat! It's so slightly matted yet silly, uneven, tapered, in other words, EXPENSIVE
On the other hand... (Pun intended)
We see Cat having fully painted nails.
She doesn't have to save on nail polish! Nope. She appeals to another echelon entirely. She's not a person as much as she's a doll, entertainment– this is what her appearance says about her.
Her hair is always neatly pinned. Perfect. Always. Using a cig holder so ash doesn't fall on her clothing or stain her gloves/fingers. It tells a completely different story.
I also loved noticing how we don't see the ladies using their hairs down! We see the history so perfectly in this lady who has less than three minutes of screen
Hat hooked to her hair, the updo curls pinned and sprayed into perfection. The jacket shoulders, the ornament buttons! High arched dramatic eyebrows, smoky eyeshadows and powdery makeup!!
I just loved having that much realism. It really pulled you into the era and that's because I am not a historian at all! I'm sure it has its far amount of inaccuracies including those made to appeal to the modern viewer! But it's still.... So yummy
I wrote an essay about the ending of Good Omens, and you can read it now.
How I learned to love the finale of Good Omens for what it is (and maybe you can, too).
It got so long I had to find another home for it, but if you're feeling sad, confused, lonely or even ambiguous after the finale, maybe reading some hopeful analysis will ease the way. I haven't written an essay in 12 years but this is what this show has done to me so here we are.
This ….PLEASE REBLOG THIS. It IS AMAZING. If you llove it or hates GO3 READ THIS ESSAY!!! This is not getting the attention it deserves. The parallels. The visual clues! All of it.

Robert Lindsay and Jemma Redgrave to star as the Roosevelts in Springwood world premiere
The show opens at the Hampstead Theatre later this year
Robert Lindsay and Jemma Redgrave will star in the world premiere of Springwood, a new play by Richard Nelson, opening at Hampstead Theatre. The production runs on the venue’s main stage from 19 June to 25 July 2026.
Nelson’s play is set in 1939 and centres on a pivotal meeting between King George VI and US President Franklin D Roosevelt, exploring the political and personal tensions surrounding the first visit of a reigning British monarch to the United States. The drama unfolds over a weekend at Roosevelt’s country home, where a seemingly informal picnic becomes a moment of international consequence as Britain seeks support in the lead-up to the Second World War.
Robert Lindsay will play President Roosevelt, with Jemma Redgrave as Eleanor Roosevelt. They are joined by Andrew Havill as King George VI and Rebecca Night as Queen Elizabeth. The wider cast includes Harry Anton, Teresa Banham, Oliver Cotton, Bryony Miller, Rachel Pickup and Eileen Nicholas.
Speaking about the project, Richard Nelson said the play focuses on the June 1939 visit to Springwood, Franklin Roosevelt’s country home, culminating in a “hot dog picnic” during “the very first visit of a reigning British Monarch to America.”
The production is directed by Richard Nelson, with design by Tom Piper, lighting design by James F Ingalis and sound design by John Leonard. Clarissa Brown serves as assistant director.
Springwood runs at Hampstead Theatre from 19 June to 25 July 2026, with tickets available now.
About Springwood
‘You’re five thousand miles away. You already owe us a fortune from the last war. We won’t see a penny of that any time soon, will we? And so – why don’t we just ignore you and your war?’
1939. A weekend at a country house. The fate of nations hangs in the balance; King George VI’s single opportunity to convince President Roosevelt to support his country in impending war is seemingly dependent on whether he and his wife can navigate a public picnic with the decorum and dignity expected of royalty. The weekend marks the first ever visit of a British monarch to the United States - can the "special relationship" survive a menu of hot dogs and beer? The President of the United States and First Lady host the King and Queen of England in this richly observed clash of cultures. While on the precipice of world war and amidst a house with very thin walls, the secrets, self-doubts, fears and indiscretions of two world leaders and their wives spill out.

Jemma is continuing her trend playing amazing lesbian / queer women I see, and I love this for her.
Crowley and Aziraphale across the universe | GOOD OMENS 3 End Credits
Yall - these characters don’t have their wings in this series of animations. They’re humans in all of these times.
1890s Grave diggers, traffic workers, spies during WWII , etc. Basically- they lived as humans over and over again throughout time. We just didn’t get to see it because (waves around at the air… al the things.)
Well, you liked him. And it looked very much like he liked you
I'm going to put my thoughts regarding the S3 Good Omens finale behind a cut. This is just me turning over my thoughts.
However, I believe in not yucking someone else's yum, so if you didn't enjoy the finale and have strong feelings about it, this probably isn't the post for you.
Good Omens Finale: Don't worry, they're all fine.
People who say it's not them in the end and that they don't remember… did you see the snow globe with the bookshop? With the Bentley? How do you think they have that? Coincidence? Is it also a coincidence that they have a garden and an apple tree? Plants everywhere, with books everywhere too? And that they're under a meteor shower again? Is it a coincidence that they "fell in love at first sight"? That they reunited again? All of this, mere coincidence? For that globe to be with them in that scene, at the very least they have dreams and some déjà vu regarding their lives in the previous universe. The previous universe appears as a distant echo in the lives of the people in this new universe, but it's there. They are the same souls. They had to detach themselves from the previous universe, but the essence remained with all of them! Everyone is alright!
I simply don’t understand why and how this fan base got so cynical.
YES IT IS THEM!!!!
Go forth and write fan fic to fill in the gaps but IT IS THEM!!?!??!!!!!
Could you sign it for me? Course. What's your name? Fell. Asa Fell, with an S.
Ummmm….. find it rather interesting how little bits of the angel and demon are still showing up and their clothing and framing of these shots. Asa is backed by a light window while Professor Crowley they’re not in total shadow still has a dividing shadow line behind him. It has a largely dark and red color scheme around them. While Asa has the light and green.
Hu. Interesting momen … wait
Ummmmmmmm. Um. Uh.. are those … wings? .
coming online as someone who liked the finale
Aziraphale’s kiss for Crowley.
Has anyone made a gif set of Aziraphale touching is fingers to his lips from the end of Season 2 paired with the gesture when he gives that kiss to Crowley on the finale? I just think it’s- and interesting, IDK contrast? Follow up? Parallel?
Friendly reminder that "bury your gays" doesn't necessarily occur every time a gay character is killed off.
Bury Your gays as a trope has been noted in media since the late 1800s, and it was often employed by queer authors looking to write queer stories and still have them published while also avoiding being arrested themselves. Execution of the trope frequently involved one party dying or being pushed to the fringes of society, and the other turning to heterosexuality (x). For instance, consider Spring Fire (1952). Of course, language can expand and change over time, so the definition might look a bit different today.
By positioning Crowley and Aziraphale's destruction as nothing but an incidence of "bury your gays", we're denying the idea that queer characters can have complex, multifaceted stories which may sometimes, yes, involve death. For instance, consider Bill and Frank in HBO's The Last of Us. They both died, but they died together at the end of a long and happy life. Context matters.
In the case of Crowley and Aziraphale, the writers were trying to convey the message that a violent, oppressive system that is grounded in cruelty cannot be reformed. Rather, it has to be fundamentally uprooted and reimagined. This is the basis of much radical leftist theory and praxis.
Good representation doesn't just mean "perfect happily ever after wholesome uwu ending". It doesn't mean that every story has to end the same. In fact, demanding that every queer story eschew death would deny the intricacies inherent to queer experience, thereby collapsing us into a bland, uni-dimensional monolith. Which is not a vibe, honestly.
Also, we literally got them back at the end. WE GOT THEM BACK.

Another thought to add to this- and one I think is particularly revolutionary- “rebellious” even, is that Crowley knew that in order to dismantle the system they’d have to sacrifice their OWN PART IN IT. You can’t change a system of injustice without acknowledging and letting go of your own privileges and benefits in that system as well. Or else you simply become that thing that you’re trying to rid the world of.
I’ve seen ideas that THEY could have rewritten the world themselves but how- and why -would they want to become GODS?
The stories make it clear that the have their own foibles and prejudices, even if they are kind they are imperfect and flawed and that’s the point.
And I will add that the essence of these two beings did not, in fact, die or disappear. For F’s sake they’re literally right there. Azi has his books, his nervous stimming, his daftness when it comes to the obvious- and Crowley has his love of the universe and the color black, enjoy NIGHTINGALES. Only in this life time he gets to EAT! And they get to laugh together and smile and enjoy each other without any responsibilities to the world or any God. This IS a happy ending.
The people saying we lost aziracrow are pissing me off. Do you not see them?? Do you not realize it’s still them??? They found each other in a completely different universe and fell in love there, too. Crowley still loves the stars. They share hot cocoa together. THATS THEM
Yeaaaaassss.
Crowley and Aziraphale's choice did not wipe out humanity. Everyone and everything was already gone.
That was not the plan for the Second Coming. That would have caused a war between heaven and hell that killed humanity and destroyed earth.
Michael wiped out humanity, earth and the entire universe by destroying the book of life.
No Alpha Centauri. Nowhere for them to go except staying in an empty bookshop with nothing else and God and Satan being able to pop in whenever they want?
God basically gave them a choice between having it all back as it was (with them never being free of heaven and hell and inevitably having another Second Coming, a Great Plan and war that destroys earth) or living in a world of nothing forever.
Instead they chose to break free and make a new universe were none of that could exist, including them and including God.
They would never have been left alone, heaven and hell always dragged them back into it. They would have never been free, or happy together. So they stood in front of God and told her to go fuck herself.
Don't tell me they lost.
THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN FREE!!!
