What songs I think the Red Rising characters have in their playlists:
Small disclaimer: I would just like to state that I have only read the first book of the series I’m currently starting on Golden Son so there’s going to be a lot of characters missing from this. I will make another version when I get around to new characters.

Darrow:
His playlist is probably titled something like:
“These kinda hit the spot”
And then he puts it on shuffle and doesn’t skip any song no matter if he’s not in the mood for it.

This is all for shits and giggles and everything I say is just my personal opinion, I got this idea when I was watching my younger brother’s hockey practice and i just needed to get it down. If you have any opinions please feel free to share them! And remember I know nothing about sports…
Darrow:
I think Darrow pre carving would play something like football (soccer)
Now you may be thinking “Why would he play that” great question here’s my answer: it feels right
Football is fun, fast paced, you don’t necessarily need a plan but a small plan of bullet notes is good.
I think Darrow would specifically be either a striker or maybe even an attacking midfielder.
However I feel like after Darrow is carved into a gold this man would become a Rugby player.
It’s kind of like in school when all of your mates decide to swap sports and you don’t want to be left so he also chooses to swap.
As much as he would have hated the swap at first he would have grown to love it after a while.
He would have the physical prowess to play the game as well.
I can see that man running down a pitch before bodying someone into the floor for that ball
Virginia:
Hear me out, I really need you to hear me out.
Show jumping.
Now yes most of the work is done by the horse but there is a lot of work that goes into getting horses to actually jump those jumps.
As someone who has grown up with friends that do showjumping professionally it’s hard.
Or she would do dressage.
Also a pretty hard thing to get horses to do but if done right it’s an absolutely amazing thing to watch!
She has most definitely won ribbons and trophies for best jumping/dressage and she takes it very seriously.
I also feel like this would have been something she absolutely grew up doing
she has a whole space for all the first place trophies and ribbons from when she was a child till now.
Sevro:
Ice hockey.
That man embodies the chaos that is needed to play ice hockey.
In my mind he and the howlers play as a team and they fucking dominate the ice!
Hockey is a truly amazing sport to watch, and it’s one of the most violent sports I’ve had the pleasure to watch in person.
He plays either centre or one of the side positions.
The most violent person on the ice at any given time.
He has been put in the box of shame more times than you can count on two hands.
He feels no shame when it comes to being put in the penalty box at all.
But he is one of the best players for putting the puck into the net so when he gets taken off the whole team are on edge.
I’d also like to say that I can see Fitchner being the coach for the team. It just feels right to me.
Victra:
I have only just started to meet Victra in Golden son so I’m open to lots of options on this.
To me I feel like she would do Boxing or Kickboxing.
She would have done it for fun at some point but I definitely feel like she’d coach boxing to younger kids/teens
She is a monster in the ring and is a very feared opponent.
She will absolutely always leaves a lasting impression on those who watch her box
I don’t think she would brag about doing boxing at all.
I actually think not many people know she does boxing.
She’s one of those people that you see a post about on social media with her medals and you go “What the fuck? I didn’t know she did that”
Cassius:
I struggled to figure this one out, part of me wants to say something like Karate but another part of me wants to say he’s absolutely fantastic at Tennis.
I definitely feel like he does both. Him and Julian would have 100% played tennis together in their spare time.
Cassius would also be something close to a black belt in Karate
I think he would offer to teach Darrow karate at some point in them knowing each other.
He’s absolutely magnificent on the tennis court too, if he offers to play tennis with you. Don’t.
You would absolutely lose against him on the tennis court and you’d then get your ass beat if you chose to go against him in karate.
He has trophies and plaques from tennis tournaments he’s done jokingly over the years
He also keeps all of his old belts from karate to show his progress and he is very proud of them
Roque:
I need people to be with me on this one.
Fencing.
This man absolutely does fencing. I can’t see him doing anything else.
He just feels like a guy who didn’t want to do anything like gymnastics but didn’t want to play football so he took up fencing as a hobby.
He didn’t intend to get super good at it but after a while he started to enjoy it more and more and eventually became absolutely amazing at it.
I will admit I have no knowledge about fencing so I can’t elaborate very much on this one.
I definitely think he would be proud of everything he has won in competitions.
He won’t brag about it but if you ask he will gladly tell you about it all.
That is so far my opinion on each characters sport they would do.
There’s a lot of characters that I have left out from the first book like Pax and Eo but I personally don’t have any ideas for them.
I apologise for the characters that are slightly shorter than others but that’s mostly because I either don’t know enough about the sport or I just don’t know too much about their character just yet (cough-Victra-cough)
I would also like to apologise for any spelling mistakes or anything else like when you read it makes no sense. I’m dyslexic and I’ve not written anything like this in years.
