In relation to my previous post i decided to study two or more titles of episodes and figure out if Adi made a guitar from a twig or if he wants us to believe that a twig is a guitar.
Season 1 Episode One Title: Inferno
N(Name) for ndmc characters
In the Divine Comedy, DanteA is lost in a dark forest. He is tired and fatigued by his journey before he meets Virgilius, the Roman poet.
In the first episode, the first time we see NDante is through him in a dark city, then saving a woman and then losing the shapeshifting baby he was supposed to kill.
The episode's actual opening was that of WR desecrating a Vatican church for Force Edge and the government yammering on and on about it.
Okay, so if we look at NDante's poorly written arc throughout season one, he's been "lost" (i.e., He doesn't know he's the son of Sparda and learns more and more about himself everyday) and it takes Plasma appearing as Vergil which could also symbolize DanteA meeting Virgil and thus pulling him into the storyline of going into the Inferno.
Final Thoughts
There isn't much about this title except for the fact that its called Inferno. Not much to talk about.
Season 2 Episode 3 Title: The Panther, the Lion, and the (She) Wolf
In this episode, we rely on flashbacks and the really fight scene at the memorial.
DanteA also ran into a panther, a lion, and a wolf. These three symbolize, in my interpretation, the nine circles he will have to face later on. Foreshadowing. And they're animals that are related to humanity's animalistic, feral nature. Their sins. Lust, fraud, pride, wrath, greed, and treachery. And its also a title in the Purgatorio season. Season 2. In the divine comedy, this is where they're OUT of the Inferno.
Okay this means two things.
A. Adi just spouting bullshit he glimpsed. (<- most likely option)
B. The panther, lion, and wolf represent our three big players, NDante, Vergil, and Mary.
Okay, again, these three animals symbolize the animalistic sins of humanity. Now lets think about what they could mean in ndmc's context.
The She-Wolf could be seen through Mary. The most dangerous of the three animals. Greed, incontinence, and avarice. How does this relate to that? Well, let's have a looksie at what Mary has done throughout the series. She planted a bomb on NDante, outright denied him human rights, followed through with terrorism if we really want to go down with the "Demons are actually Immigrants!!". NDante with the lion (there's this air of arrogance and pride surrounding this version of him because of favoritism, self-insertion, and also because he's the mc), and Nergil with the panther (lusts for power a little differently. The fraudulence because my man's never once done anything actual Vergil would do. Malice is also noted. It is swift and could also be represented through Shadow.) respectively.
And...
C. It could be represented through Arius... for some reason. I'm 99.99999% sure with every fiber inch of my body that Adi completely forgot that ⅔ of the animals i just mentioned were she-beasts. The panther and the wolf both. Its just more explicitly mentioned with the wolf though. Anyways
Arius, because he's more prominent here over Mary, could most definitely be the one all three symbolize. He is prideful, violent, power hungry, malicious, and more. He also got that cut that looks like horns. He's also managed to retain a very well done upper hand against Nergil TWIIIICE, and if it weren't for NDante and Mary, he could've probably killed him. Somehow.
Final Thoughts
A lot of things could have been better done as this episode was called The Panther, the Lion, and the Wolf, the three animals that blocked DanteA's way before he met Virgil. Also, this title honestly shouldn't have been used at all unless Adi knew what he was doing. Arius is technically the thing in the way of NDante and Nergil, but he's too important compared to the three animals that appeared for a few lines. Well it could also be his short screentime.
Episodes 3 and 4 of season 1 are next unless i reread my copies of Inferno again
