“stars placed and glued meticulously by hand next to the ceiling fan” taylor has so many lyrics about her relationship with joe and how they spent so much time dreaming while staring at the ceiling, but except for this one line, she never mentions something that could hurt her while they were dreaming. the blades of the fan are moving fast and can quite literally hurt you, and she’s just trying to place stars next to this thing that could cut her because the ceiling with the dreamscapes is all she has.

and this also just makes me think how she has kept somethings back and not told the full story because she was trying to protect him (and as was her right because that’s what a partner does)
