Curse of the Were-Weiner

I am trying to get a prestigious position in some group, either a chief EMT or judge, and there is one other person for competition. He is qualified, too, surely, but I don't really know him or think about him. We both are in a dimly-lit room with several other people, including the older man that is about to announce his decision for successor to this job. There is a long couch and grandfather clock, both placed around the tall wooden desk you often see in courtrooms. The man says the boy's name, and mine after- we are both to share the job. This is an outrage, and I would rather have not gotten the job at all. We both fight with the gentleman to make him just choose one person, but he vehemently suggests us both. We are discontented. The scene shifts and I'm in the front of an ambulance while someone else drives. We are going through a residential neighborhood on an EMT patrol tour, and the driver, a girl around my age, is explaining how things work. She says that we just have to wait for a call and then kick into action. It's overcast and seems to be the evening.

I am in a room with few windows at very top of the walls, near the ceiling. It looks like the bottom floor of Faith Village, Bastrop, because of the plastic rectangular tables covered in cheap vinyl tablecloth. The chairs are the metal and plastic fold-up kind, scattered around without much organization, and the room is poorly lit. There are a bunch of people that I know or am friends with sitting around, and we decide to watch a movie. The square projector screen comes down at the far end of the room and the lights go off at some point, though there is still dimness in the room. I find a spot on the ground and sit down, and find Siva Shanmugan next to me. He scooches over and gestures for me to lean on his shoulder as the movie starts. I'm mildly surprised to see him because we haven't caught up with each other in a long time, but I am not shocked because I feel like I've been at this camp place with him for a while.

I am in an Olympic-sized swimming pool with Brooke DelGuercio and Bret Robinson. We are in one lane all the way on the left side at the end. As we tread water, Ginny Kraft explains to us what motions we need to make in the water; the drill for the marching band show requires synchronized swimming. I am getting really freaked out because she is explaining complicated movements and I'm not a good swimmer. We are then swimming around in the pool, doing lengths to exercise. Bret is far ahead of us, but I somehow managed to pull ahead of Brooke by swimming on my back. This is surprising to me, and I get a little more happy and confident in the water.

I am in a cozy building that feels like a house. There are at least 2 adults around, and a little girl. We're sitting at a light brown, upright piano in the middle of the room. I am teaching the girl how to lay "All I Ask Of You" from "The Phantom Of The Opera." She is doing pretty well, and I'm not frustrated with her, but she gets confused at one point, so I try to play it from memory for her, even though she probably has the music. I am amazed that I can play the song so flawlessly without music, but I don't let it show because I'm giving her piano lessons. I get a little carried away, being swept up in the beauty of the song and keep playing past where she needs to fix her mistake. I can feel the admiring eyes of the others in the room upon me, and I just feel so happy with the music. I stop about halfway through so she can pick up where she started. The dream song is in the exact key as the movie recording.

I am in a patio garden at a small, classy party. The plants are very luscious and green around us. The foliage is almost tropical, with a few palms and other waxy-leaved plants. The stone path is a reddish color. The pit orchestra of "The Phantom Of The Opera" from Broadway is with me, and some instruments are out. I am standing near a small, wooden and iron bench with the principal violinist. He plays a few tunes and somehow I wind up with the instrument in playing position. I tell the violinist that I used to play violin, and try to bow out a simple melody from the show, so as not to embarrass myself too much. I start playing, though, and it sounds decent. I play out the melody to "All I Ask Of You" and it actually sounds good! My bowing makes the whole thing sound pretty, and it doesn't feel awkward at all. None of the musicians are particularly astounded, but pleased to the point of chuckling at my personal triumph. All I can think is how cool it is to play and be in their presence, and wonder how I could possibly muster up this much skill from the terrible few violin years I had so long ago. The violin somehow disappeared, but the garden party was still really fun. There was also an average-sized greenhouse of foggy, bluish glass hidden partially by the thriving plant life. Inside was very pretty with greenery.

Dream: I am playing with my phone as I try to fall asleep in my bed at home. I touch the call section and am about to call Mom.
Transitory: I'm laying on my side, facing the windows, not aware that I'm dreaming.
Reality: The phone rings on my nightstand immediately when I'm about to dream call Mom, and it's Brooke DelGuercio asking me to go to a car dealership with her. I feel no struggle to "wake up" because I wasn't truly sleeping- just half asleep or hallucinating.

I get the seemingly brilliant idea that bananas should be tattooed in some way. I picture a banana in smile position with the stem facing left, and it’s late yellow with three ellipses lined up in the middle, separated by a centimeter, each. There is ink like from popsicle sticks printed on the middle of each ellipse with distinct words. Each word is like a different choice, and if you lift up that patch of peel, there will be more ink under with a word or answer to your selection.
I am walking in between the two backyards of some property. Other people are with me, friends, but they follow. We see a young wolf that is small, sitting in the grass, which is full green. One of the people I’m with tell me that he/she saw a wolf like this before and it was amazing to watch. We approach, and the wolf does not move. It eventually stretches it’s neck to howl several times, a mf, sad slow, howl. We are all seated or laying on the grass at this point, and understand that we should howl, too. We have somehow become lions at this point. I just feel weird sitting with this lonely baby wolf, so I start to walk off and leave, breaking into a run for some reason. Just as I turn the corner, people run around the corner of a house where we entered from, and they are trying to catch us. I am already at a running start, so I careen around a corner opposite their entry and continue running. I hope the others are escaping but I’m worried because they were just sitting and I was instinctually running. I see the rest of lions scatter in my third person perspective. I head up the yard which becomes the left-side yard of my house, when an evil Indian man faces me. He starts throwing things at me and saying horrible things about catch all of us. One of things he throws in a wet, bunched up paper towel, which I launch back at him. I am neither human nor lion right now- I just see this man’s malicious face.

I am sitting in my dorm room with my friends and we are drinking when a little girl runs in and tells us, "Hide the alcohol--the Chancellor's wife is coming in!!!" We start scrambling and then Patti (wife of the Chancellor) comes in and starts looking around for alcohol. She talks to us about random stuff while she looks around, looking in drawers and behind furniture. She tells us that she is going to find it and she can't wait to get us in trouble. She finally finds a handle of rum hidden; she picks it up and unscrews the cap and takes a swig. She tells us that she is not going to punish us if she can drink our liquor, so I tell her to take as much as she wants. I am then in a room that is similar to a talk show room where there's a pulpit in the centre and the audience is in risers surrounding the centre. It is essentially a witch hunt to find the person who ratted us out while we were drinking and Glozell is hosting the "show". We find the guy, who looks like a young, scruffy Eminem, and everyone in the audience is booing him and spitting at him. I leave and see it's dark outside and the full moon is making the whole outdoors bright. It's chilly and windy; I check my watch and realise I am going to miss my flight if I don't hurry. I start running on a hillside that surrounds a small river that's running through town/campus (like a scene straight out of Naruto) with Kelsey and we are running to the airport (which is actually 20 miles away). I forgot my luggage, so I run back to the room to get it and tell her I will meet up with her along the way. We are both running super fast and leaping like superhumans.
Then I wake up.

I was in a city like Venice, Italy, traveling by gondola along small canals. It was sunny outside and the stone paths, bridges, and buildings of the city were clean and colorful like sandstone. I got off the boat at a dock and walked into a building. Suddenly I am supposed to be entering a sauna with two businessmen and a businesswoman to discuss a deal. The businesswoman disappears and I realize that I can't go into a sauna with the businessmen because some males don't wear clothes in the sauna. I go to leave the passage towards the sauna and find myself face to face with a black guy that's familiar. He was either on the gondola with me or near the dock. I've never spoken to him, but he's about my age. He asks me a seemingly innocent question that unnerves me about love; why can't I love or why won't I just love. I give him a shocked look and respond snappily but leave realizing the unsettling truth about myself.

Dream: Something strange or negative happens.
Transitory: I wake up suddenly and turn on my side to fall alseep.
Real: I wake up and realize my dream within a dream.

I am living with other college-aged students in an old dorm styled like a cabin. I have the sense that it's large, though scenes only occur in one common room. It has brownish grey carpet with sofas and warm coloured walls. It's like we're all at camp because the dorm is in the woods and elevated, like a treehouse, but it's also like college because these are apparently my college friends. I'm hanging out in the common room on several accounts, talking to the people there, who all happen to be slightly-nerdy guys. On one occasion, I lay down on the carpet, at first thinking of how infrequently the janitors clean it, but then remembering that it's the beginning of the semester so they probably vacuumed it recently for tours. Then I also realize that they don't vacuum after the tourists that have been trotting around inside with dirty shoes from walking in the forest, but I stay sprawled out anyway. I have many scenes and adventures in this locale, but one is the bear sighting. I leave the dorm cabin to explore the woods. It's late Autumn, so the trees are pretty much bare, and brown leaves mat the floor. I see some wild animals like rabbits and deer, which is exciting, so I return to the cabin. Bret Robinson, who is now apparently in the cabin as well, wants to come see the wildlife, so we go for another adventure. As we exit a small tunnel made from a muddy/stony knoll, I hear something so we freeze. I tell him to look around and see if he can spot the animal that made the noise, while I peer around for deer. Instead, I see another moving hunk of brown fur at the edge of my vision, blocked by a small tree and the edge of the cave. I look again and move outward to see an adolescent brown bear behind a skinny tree. I point it out to Bret as a mother brown bear comes into view. It's amazing to see them but they are so close, so I quietly back away into the cave with a decent view of them. Bret, however, is so intrigued that he steps forward to get a better look. I'm too focused on the bears to be worried about Bret being in eyesight, but soon the bears spot us. They come towards us and we do not move because we don't want to startle them and cause an attack. The mother bear is a foot in front of Bret, with the cub close behind. I want to tell him to not break eyecontact with her, but he's doing it anyway and I'm afraid the whispering my startle the other. Then he speaks something aloud to express his delight and she attacks. The scene shifts and we're perfectly fine, back at the cabin telling the common room guys all about the bears.
I am running as fast as I can away from Anthony Parel and another girl. We are in my house at first but I burst out the front door and sprint towards the backyard garden. It's midnight dark outside but I feel that my life is in danger. I want to trick my pursuers by running for the Parel's backyard instead of towards the reservoir, but the huge pine tree that used to be in the corner is not there, so I have no cover. I head on my "normal" route towards the street and turn left. Behind me, I hear that Anthony and the girl are just coming out my front door now, and he is shocked at how fast I'm running. I think of how fast the cheetah and the rabbit run- one is running for it's meal while the other is running for it's life. I'm the rabbit trying to save myself, as I turn onto Brandt Road. The pursuers are probably passing the solar panel house now, so I stay on the sidewalk and turn left. The scene shifts to only my thoughts- I could run up the covered driveway of the second house and hide in the brush until they pass. And I could knock some cans over and bend some branches to make it look like I ran another way. Or I could knock on the door and hope the owners let me take shelter- but no, I don't even know them so they would never do it. Time is running out- there's no moment to do anything but hide.
My dad is telling me that we have to remember to buy a massive amount of fireworks. I am mildly surprised that he wants to buy a lot because it gets expensive, but my enthusiasm is not covered by my wariness.

I am going to go read and sleep early, but Alex Dobromilsky asks if anyone is available. I say that I sorta am, so she makes me babysit her younger brother. This little brother is in elementary school and needs to be watched while Alex is gone and her parents are doing something for 2 hours. I agree hoping I'll make a little babysitting money out of it but not minding otherwise. I ask if her little brother can come to my house, where we are currently, so I don't have to change out of my pajamas and bring my book somewhere. She explains a reason I don't understand why he needs to be at their house. I drive there but the scene shifts and I am at a supermarket with Brooke DelGuercio. Brooke and her brother are there before they watch a movie, she tells me. She and I go to the salad bar and start filling our plastic boxes with food. She stands across so I can't see her well through the sneeze-guard but we're still talking, and at the right end of the bar, she says that her brother is next to me. I look over at this really tall white guy with long brown hair who is saying hello to another guy across the room. I want to introduce myself but Brian DelGuercio keeps saying hi to people as if he hasn't been back home in a really long time. I give up after only 2 minutes to go get more salad from the other side, and add some Chinese "fruit rollup" pieces on the side. The scene shifts again and I'm at a house that apparently belongs to Ashna Pai. Her parents are standing before me and Ashna is to my left. I run to them for hugs and then hug Ashna. Now I'm supposed to be watching Alex's brother at Ashna's house because Alex is hanging out with Brooke and Brian. This sorta annoys me because Alex's brother could've easily tagged along but I forget it. Ashna has a new cat with a name derived from Reese's Pieces. It is swirly orange and black just like the old cat, Reese, that lived down Tufts Court, but this cat is young and has no wart above it's left eye. I think it's a little cute.
I am standing somewhere when I realize that I'm dreaming because something extra-ordinary happens. When I start lucid dreaming, the view becomes third person of standing but first of sleeping in my bed. I first test to control my breathing- I slowly inhale and exhale lucidly. I want to fly but I'm afraid I'm going to wake up so I try to think of something less drastic, but I begin to wake up anyway.
