The Orchard Sessions: Volume 12
Volume 12: The Back Story
The History:Â
Hey guys. It has been a hot minute. I've been a bit MIA as I focus on big life changes and exciting new developments (that I can't wait to share with you when I can!). So before I get in to any of the brilliant history of Charlotte I just want to salute each and every one of your patience and love.
Also? We're back. This session plus the ones coming up will knock yer socks off. Okay. On to Charlotte.
I met the wonderful and deliciously unique Charlotte Cornfield through my favorite branch of Canadian musicians. My initial band at New School was full of Les Canadiens, and there were a couple of years where we were in Montreal a TON (I miss those! We have to bring those back!).
Franky Rousseau, my guitarist at the time and currently one of my dearest friends, introduced me to Charlotte as a musician and human. She excels ridiculously at both. We brought her in for my series at Cornelia Street to play with Kate Davis (ayyy, volume 6!) and then decided that an Orchard Session was necessary. She came in and rocked this in just under three takes. Then we went for Chinese food. It was great.
The Personnel:
Charlotte Cornfield
Charlotte hails from Canada and is a citizen of the world. Her lyrics floor me every time I hear them. I met her through my dear friends Franky and Ali and am so happy I did. She also destroys at the drums, in case you wanted another reason to love her. Check her out, folks. You'll thank me.
Franky Rousseau
Franky and I go back like, to quote a phrase, dorky New School Jazz students. Franky was my original guitarist and helped shape my sound like pretty much no one else. He is a magnificent guitarist, singer, composer, bandleader, and currently music industry slayer. I have only the good words to say about Franky. What a pleasure to finally ACTUALLY document him in the living room.
In Conclusion:Â
Stay tuned, guys. We have a lot of beautiful music coming at you from some of my absolute favorite human beings. Beaming you all of the happy.
Love, T
