He was his darkness She was his light

“I mean did you hear it from our Father’s mouth?” Lucifer asked, he required the specifics of the order. “And did he? Well I do not believe that to be true.” He thought about it. Death would be the eventual outcome if they ate from the tree, though he suspected both Adam and Eve thought it would be the immediate affect.
“I have not eaten from the tree,” Lucifer answered honestly. “Our Father would not allow me to eat from it, though angels do not need to eat. Neither do you? Or is life easier for you when you do?”
Eve nodded, wide eyed as she looked up at the angel. “Yes, He said we may eat of any tree in the Garden except that one. If we even touch it, we will die. Why would Father say such if it was not true?” God’s instructions had been clear and Eve did not wish to die so she had always followed the instructions.
“We eat as we please and it brings enjoyment.” She shrugged. She knew not of things such as hunger or starvation. The Garden was what gave them life. “Do you not take pleasure in eating the fruits of our Father’s creations?”
Gadreel’s brow pinched as he looked away from her and down at the ground. “I do not know what is right anymore. I thought—I thought I knew. but nothing feels right since–” he swallowed. Since he was locked away from all things.
Eve nodded, expression laced with mournful understanding. She knew how Heaven’s punishments could twist the heart in even more painful ways, drive out any remaining love , especially as they dragged on through the years. Gadreel had suffered more than anyone and yet he still thought of her. “There is still good in you, Gadreel. Listen to your grace. Not the angel who would pull the strings to manipulate you.”
“There are few places left that can be called safe, Eve,” Gadreel said softly as he reached out to brush a bit of her hair back from her face. “My Father sees many things. He will find me and I would not have you in the face of such things. I will face my fate.”
Eve sighed and closed her eyes at the angel’s touch. She knew it would not last, that he would leave her, and she could not bear it. She made up her mind and opened her eyes which were lit with renewed determination. Her hand moved to cover his and she clasped their fingers together so as not to be parted so easily. “I am no safer here than I would be by your side. Please, I know that I can help. There is nothing left for me here, anyway.”
So Genesis is a lie? Shocker.

“It’s a quince!”
I love that everyone has their own hc’s for what the forbidden fruit was. Personally I like the pomegranate. I believe thecastawaybrotherlucifer hc’s a orange. Seriously there are so many! ( betrayerofeden you should read the last because I sorta love that & Gadreel teaching humans how to hunt all the tasty animals around them.)
[I still have drafts but I need to wander off and get my things queued for other blogs. Slowly trying to work Eve (and all my female muses) back though! So if anyone wants to plot I will be around!]
"Unfortunately sometimes I have to keep my head down, you know that this is the case. I sensed your presence and thought that I had to greet you."
“Better down than at the edge of Michael’s sword I suppose so I can’t say I blame you for remaining quiet. I am glad to see you though.”

“I should’ve worshipped her sooner.”
“Every Sunday’s getting more bleak.”
“We were born sick.”
“The only heaven I’ll be sent to is when I’m alone with you.”
“I was born sick, but I love it.”
“Good God, let me give you my life.”
“She demands a sacrifice.”
“Get something shiny.”
“This is hungry work.”
“There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin.”
“Offer me that deathless death.”
“I’ll worship you like a dog at the shrine of your lies.”
“It’s bloody and raw, but I swear it is sweet.”
“So tired trying to see from behind the red in my eyes.”
“And, Lord, she found me just in time.”
“Call me baby.”
“Sit back and watch the world go by.”
“Don’t take this the wrong way…”
“Honey, there is no right way.”
“I fall in love just a little.”
“Would things be easier if there was a right way?”
“All I’ve ever done is hide.”
“But you don’t know what the hell you put me through!”
“It feels good to be alone with you.”
“Honey, we should run away.”
“Babe, there’s something tragic about you.”
“Don’t you agree?”
“I’m so full of love I could barely eat.”
“She give me toothaches just from kissin’ me.”
“No grave can hold my body down.”
“When my baby found me, I was three days on a drunken sin.”
“I didn’t care much how long I lived.”
“She never asked me once about the wrong I did.”
"It is wonderful to see you!"
“I have missed you. Where have you been? And to what do I owe this visit?”
"Eve!"
“Hello, Lucifer!” Eve beamed, smile broad, before she embraced the angel.
She was right, he knew it through his tattered Grace and through his vessel. “Then who am I to serve?” he asked softly. “It is all I know.”
Eve sighed and looked upon the angel with pity. She might only be a human, but at least she had choices where he did not. Her existence might be small in comparison, but it was not without the weight of her own choices. “Yourself, Gadreel,” she said softly. “You must do what you believe is right in your own heart. If I learned nothing else all those years ago, it was that. And you will find yourself miserable until you do.”
Gadreel didn’t know how to answer. He didn’t want her to fear him but he knew blame was on his shoulders. He had allowed his trust of his brother to cloud his judgement. No tricks or false words had been given—it had all been a little brother’s blind trust and hope in the elder. “I fear I may start. My choices have not been befitting of the heavenly host of late.”
Eve nodded. She understood. Their Father was furious with what had happened and He would see them pay in whatever way he could. Lucifer, herself, Adam, and now Gadreel, they’d all been banished and wrongly. She would not see her Father’s wrath upon another who did not deserve it.
“You must,” she said. She glanced with worry back at the small abode she shared with Adam and swallowed to steal her nerves before looking back to the angel. “It is not safe here. They will know and come looking for you. We have to go someplace else. Further away. Where the angels will not seek you.”
OMG HELEN. Cain/Abel, pre angel interference. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Now Adam knew his wife Eve, and she conceived and bore Cain, and she said, “I have acquired a man with the Lord.” And she continued to bear his brother Abel, and Abel was a shepherd of flocks, and Cain was a tiller of the soil.
And in the field between them did they meet, where the soil was tilled and the flocks at rest. And did Abel say to his brother, “Your fields are plentiful, and will be pleasing in the eyes of the Lord.” And Cain did watch the sheep and said, “Your sheep are content and in good care. Your work is pleasing to the Lord.”
And when the soil would rest and the flocks would sleep, Cain and Abel would look up to the lights of the sky and draw out their constellations. In them they saw their father and their mother, and the creatures of the land, the sea and the heavens, and they imagined Eden without their toil and without their knowledge of the good and the evil.
And Abel looked to his brother and said, “Brother, I fear the Lord.” And Cain did look back upon Cain and said, “There is nothing to fear from the Lord.” But Abel resisted. He said to Cain, “Lo, but I love my brother more than the Lord, and I will be banished as our father and mother were banished from the Garden.” And Cain said to him, “No, brother. There is no greater love than the love of the Lord.”
But Abel would not rest. “Lucifer has come to me and offers me protection from the Lord so that I may love without fear.” And Cain did feel a blow to his heart, for Lucifer was cast from Heaven and taught the snake to creep into Eden. But Abel would not be swayed. He said, “I would serve Lucifer to love you, and defy the Lord to be by your side.”
And so Cain feared for his brother. In the dusk did Lucifer appear and Cain cursed him. “My brother is corrupted and I curse you to leave.” But Lucifer shone his light and had Cain bend his knee. He said, “I will send your brother to Heaven if you take his seat in Hell.” And Cain did weep. And he said, “I will take my brother’s place.” And Lucifer said, “Then you must take a bone and pierce his heart, and he will take a seat in Heaven.”
And so when Abel did sacrifice the firstborn and the fattest of his flocks to the Lord, and Cain did offer the fruit of the soil, the Lord turned to Abel and did not turn to Cain. And when the eye of the Lord was turned did Cain take a bone and pierce his brother’s heart. And as he wept did Lucifer return and said, “Your brother is in Heaven, and you are a servant of Hell.”
And Cain did leave the body of his brother to stain the ground with blood and his grief, and became a Knight of Hell.
