begging people to look up terms they do not understand before confidently misusing them emotional incest is such a serious thing. it requires very specific dynamics and can fuck people up and be maintained well into adulthood. but if none of the people involved are children when the dynamic comes into existence, it's not emotional incest.

It could be toxic, it could be abusive, and I know I'm railing against the dying of the light in a world that's already trying to render gaslighting a useless term, but like. God. I lived that shit!! I survived that shit!!! I wish people would do the common decency of honouring the weight of the experience by not diluting the terminology just because the entanglement of two unrelated adults who met when they were adults gives them the ick

Incestophilia! Most of them aren't terribly complicated. An Internet search told me there's also aegoincestopihilia which is interest in incest in fiction only or incest that doesn't involve them. There might be other terms but I'm not really involved in those communities tbh

i’m not sure if you watched gladlands but i think about that scene between hugi and aunt freaky so often bc like. yes vb were roleplaying rlly serious topics but that’s not rare for d20 and vic was able to get smth out of brennan that No One Else ever has (on camera) before… like i’ve genuinely never seen him or them that deep in such an emotional scene and they’re some of the best improvisers in the game. it felt way too intimate for what it was. the two of them tap into smth so raw and real together and it’s really easy to see how that would translate in a kink scenario if you’re a freak like me… idk sorry just realizing there is not a question in this ask lol but all this to say, i think that visceral exploration of a complicated family dynamic was weirdly where vicbrennan really clicked for me and everything you’ve got going on on this blog backs that up sooo keep up the good work. they’re insane

ANON YOU GET IT!!!! i will admit that i haven't watched a lot of d20 outside of gladlands, but i have heard multiple times that vic brought out something special in brennan so obviously i'll believe that. it was SO intimate. the entire campaign is so intimate between the two of them. everyone's characters and arcs are fantastic but brennan seems pretty focused on oscar and vic specifically, and even within the two of them a lot of the storytelling seems to revolve around vic/hugi. hugi is such a deeply personal character for vic; not only are they exploring their grief around their mom's death less than a year out, hugi also has so many traits that scream vic to me. the dedication to their family & urge to take care of everyone around them and obscure their own needs, namely. it had to have taken a huge amount of trust in brennan for them to be comfortable telling that story with him. and they said that the only reason they were comfortable being in the dome was because he was gming!!!

obviously i agree with you about their roleplaying easily translating to a kink setting. they are both such deeply intense people in absolutely anything they do. family dynamics are something that they both have a very complex relationship with, and i think they could be reaaally really interesting explored in a kink setting. to work things out, as a form of catharsis, and also. just because it's hot. vic is questionable about incest at best ... i've seen the way they talk to brennan, they want to call him dad(dy) for sure

thank you so much !!! hmmm this is a tough one. i guess i like any scenario where they're doing pretty niche roleplay. i think vic has a lot of very weird fringe kinks (not even just taboo stuff, like, they have some kind of thing for tornadoes and natural disasters) and we know brennan likes to really dive deep for roleplay in a ttrpg setting, i think they could have a lot of fun. and they're both so good at being serious when it calls for it, vic is an Actor they take shit seriously when they need/want to. of course i'm mainly thinking about cnc & incest roleplay scenarios because that's my cup of tea :) vicbrennan dad/son and dad/daughter is incredibly special to me
