So when BT sent me the last comic, they also sent me this because they loved the idea of making Doge really really tired and done with everything, and so I got this absolute work of art to accompany to comic.
It's been... quite some time since the last one, but rest assured, we aren't dead.

Uber's Hard Mode part 11
The scene is in SNOWDIN. FRISK and CHARA stand on the end of a land bridge to the west, the snowy surface spreading out into a large pillar that connects to a second one to the east with a non-land wooden bridge. The pillar closest to the humans has a lone inhabitant, the NICE CREAM GUY; who looks somewhat annoyed. FRISK: Frisk decides to approach the salesman, waving a hand to catch his attention. NICE CREAM GUY: "I don't understand why these aren't selling. It's the perfect weather for something cold..." He notices Frisk "OHH! A CUSTOMER! Hello! would you like some... uhh..." beat
"Well I'll be. The weather was a little too nice for something cold... all of my Nice Cream Melted!" CHARA: "what." NICE CREAM GUY: "I guess... do you want some uhh... Nice... Goop. it's only 5g." FRISK: "Sure, I'll take some." Frisk buys one Nice Goop, just out of curiosity if nothing else. They then hold it up to Chara. "Any comments?" NICE CREAM GUY: Confused by the appearance of this question being directed either at nothing or at him "...No?"
CHARA: *Nice Goop: Heals 5hp, It was Nice Cream, then it melted in the sweltering Snowdin weather. FRISK: They nod politely to the salesman and start to walk off NICE CREAM GUY: "Tell your friends that... ah, who am I kidding." He waves to Frisk as they walk across the bridge onto the next large pillar. FRISK: Frisk pauses almost instantly after crossing the bridge, because a mid-sided bipedal dog wearing armor is standing next to the ball game. They turn and narrow their eyes when they see Frisk. CHARA: *Lesser Dog looks at you with eyes narrowed for a challenge. *accept? FRISK: They nod to Lesser Dog and a whistle rings out as both the human and the monster walk to the center of the ball game area. The usual flag is present, but there's also a flag placed where the snowball drops normally. though this time, the snowball is dropped in the center, where the two would be athletes are standing.
LESSER DOG: With a decisive bark, Lesser Dog leaps into action! Kicking the snowball right from under Frisk's nose and taking off towards the flag and hole behind Frisk. The human turns around in surprise but doesn't react fast enough to stop the monster from driving the snowball straight into the hole. CHARA: *You lose! *you gave 15G to Lesser Dog. FRISK: "Oh, it's on now." CHARA: *Challenge them again? LESSER DOG: Frisk leaps at the chance for a rematch and the two take their spots again. Frisk has always adapted quickly, and so the two are evenly matched this time around, kicking the snowball back and forth, stealing one time after another until the ball melts entirely. CHARA: *it's a tie! FRISK: No funny business, Frisk and Lesser Dog lock eyes within moments and leap back into another game at the exact instant that a snowball returns to the middle. LESSER DOG: They catch what appears to be an opening and pounce, leaping forward to try and slam the ball straight into their goal FRISK: but it was a gambit the entire time! Frisk kicks the ball straight under Lesser Dog's legs as they jump and the ball lands into the hole, still quite a few seconds away from melting. CHARA: *You win! *you get 15G from lesser dog.
"Ehem. Good job Frisk, though are you intending to play this game for hours?" FRISK: "Nope, I just needed at least one win, to prove I could do it." now satisfied, Frisk politely waves to Lesser Dog and ventures into the next room. Previous experience makes them not be surprised when the skeleton brothers are nowhere to be seen, the word search room replaced with a very tight maze of ice, snow piles, and blue 'X' shapes on the ground. Frisk starts to throw themselves at the puzzle, failing four times in a row but starting to understand the pathing by the fifth, though completing the rest of the route will have to wait because... CHARA: *Stackcap appears! Jerry came too. In front of Frisk, two monsters jump in. One appears to be Icecap, but as the change in name implies, with multiple hats all stacked on top of one another. Jerry, much to everyone's chagrin, is identical to his normal appearance. FRISK: Frisk looks at their options, opening the ACT menu and finding, to some puzzlement, that there are only two possible actions. Check and Steal. They naturally choose Check. CHARA: *Stackcap: AT 21 DF 7 *This teen has developed a hat based obsession. STACKCAP: "Where's YOUR hat? I want to take it and add to my tower!" JERRY: "No one cares about the hats, man."
STACKCAP: Piles of top hat shaped chunks of ice start dropping around Frisk and explode into icy buckshot, filling the air with projectiles. Frisk starts dodging... and dodging... and... dodging... and... FRISK: "When will this attack end?" Frisk is hit once, but it's not that big of a deal. what is a big deal is that their options appear in front of them again... while they're still dodging ice. Frisk quickly moves through the menus mid attack, taking another hit while doing so, and selects Check again, this time targeted on Jerry. CHARA: *Jerry. AT 0, DF 30. Everyone knows Jerry, I hope you like the first attack you see, because he makes it last the entire battle. JERRY: "The Human's not dead yet? Man, you suck at this." STACKCAP: "More hats. MORE!" The hats keep coming, the buckshot ice continues to fly. And even Stackcap is starting to be annoyed at being unable to do anything else. FRISK: Dodging mid-menu is something Frisk has never done before, so they take another hit while navigating through their ACTs and finally choosing to Steal. Some of the summoned hats blink green and as Frisk runs through one of the green ones, The end up close enough to Stackcap to reach out and grab one of the hats on top of their head. This continues to repeat, no more menus, no more shakeups. Frisk Slogs through the stealing, one at a time, until... ICESTACK: All of them are gone, revealing three small ice cubes stacked on top of one another. CHARA: *Without its cap. and without its cap, and without its cap. and... FRISK: The human checks their menus again and notices that they have the option to ditch Jerry, which they do with glee. CHARA: *You and the other monsters ditch Jerry when it looks away! ICESTACK: "I... might have gotten carried away..." CHARA: *Stackcap is no more. FRISK: Frisk spares Icestack, and... CHARA: *You won! Got 0XP and 35G FRISK: "I never want to see Jerry again..." Newfound trauma aside, Frisk swiftly finishes the puzzle and goes into the next room, resting their eyes on a precious save point. They gladly run over and tap it, looking at the table next to them with some cheese on it, which is inside of a block of ice. CHARA: *Knowing the mouse might one day find a pickaxe lying around to break the ice and get the cheese... fills you with determination.

Raver's Time Location Vibes
Hi, this is Uber. For context; I sometimes do online Role Playing using Overseer characters and settings for fun and for writing practice so I can make better scripts for the comic. A friend of mine wanted to practice writing their own AU Undertale character Deidre, and so we just teleported them into Raver's version of Snowdin for fun. and while doing the RP, I noticed that I typed a really good description of Snowdin in Raver's time, so I decided (with the friends permission of course) to take a screenshot and send it here to show all of you what Snowdin is like during this time.
Well well well. the plot thickens. This concludes the red world, we'll be returning to dreamland shortly, please buckle your seatbelts.

So, that anniversary stream, eyy?
sup, Uber here, I love the lore drop from Gerson in the new stream. and this actually makes me really glad that the comic is going as slowly as it is. (don't worry, there's no behind the scenes drama or anything like that. Both BT and I like making this, we've just agreed to take it slowly) because The Overseer has a LOT of stuff with Gerson planned out that I have to do some minor rewriting on now that the new lore on Gerson is here, luckily, nothing broke, in most part because we haven't gotten to the parts with a lot of Gerson yet, and if anything, this new lore has made Gerson's role in the later plot even more interesting and kind of tragic. So looking forward to when I eventually get to bust out the new and improved Gerson writing when the comic gets caught up to him. I can also update button lore with the new information, which is nice, though the changes I'm intending to make are unlikely to have any plot relevance in the comic itself, and exist mostly just for my own satisfaction with the worldbuilding.

Uber's Hard Mode part 10
We remain in SNOWDIN, with FRISK and CHARA back at the crossroads. Frisk is currently adjusting the knot on the MANLY BANDANNA they got. the only path left unexplored is the one straight forward, and without much more to do, they make their way into the next room, only to discover that... FRISK: "...Where's Sans and Papyrus?" CHARA: "I... don't know." FRISK: "I guess Papyrus already saw me, and he said his puzzles hadn't been calibrated, so he's preparing something else... I guess those two just... don't have any reason to be here this time." CHARA: "Still feels weird." FRISK: "agreed." Despite the weirdness, Frisk marches without issue past the empty corridor of trees. the next part of the forest has a guard post, and the moment Frisk stands in front of it...
DOGGO: A dog rises out of the post, and glances around. "Did something move? I can only see moving things... unless..." the dog puts on glasses. "I put these on, but now I can only see things that don't move... hey! is that... a human!" CHARA: "Oh, uhh..." FRISK: "I guess he can see me now..." CHARA: *Doggo approaches, squinting at you through his glasses. FRISK: "easy, just all orange attacks now, right?" Frisk does the usual opener of ACT into Check CHARA: Doggo. Easily exited by movement... and stillness... everything really. likes squirrels and rocks an equal amount. DOGGO: "ohh! just stay.... right there!" Frisk's guess seems accurate for now, as Doggo starts rapidly swinging their daggers, both glowing orange, Frisk starts doing jumping jacks and the daggers pass straight through them. CHARA: *Doggo blocks the way!
FRISK: Frisk notices that the same acts as normal are present here, and so chooses 'Pet' as their action for the turn. DOGGO: "What are you doing?" Instead of just reaching out and petting Doggo. Frisk has to carefully approach Doggo through a barrage of orange attacks... well, perhaps 'carefully' isn't the right word, Frisk bum rushes through the attacks and pets doggo. DOGGO: "WHAT!!! I've been Pet!!!" Doggo attacks again, and Frisk resumes jumping jacks... until Doggo's swinging causes their glasses to go far enough down their nose that they can't see through them anymore, the attacks abruptly turn blue and Frisk is slashed across the stomach. FRISK: "Ow! what the... oh... huh..." CHARA: *Doggo has been pet! FRISK: "not too much damage at least..." Frisk opts to ignore items and just pet again. DOGGO: "Well... I can see you when you get closer!" Another barrage of attacks that Frisk has to navigate through, all blue this time, before Frisk gets close enough to pet, and does so. DOGGO: "WOAH!!! again!!!" Doggo adjusts the glasses on their face and starts swinging with orange. however, the glasses start to regularly slip off and have to be adjusted, casing the barrage to alternate between orange and blue. Frisk is getting the idea of how this fight works by now, and so weaves through the colors without issue. CHARA: *Doggo is both suspicious of your movements and impressed by them.
FRISK: Hard mode or not, a pattern is still a pattern, and so Frisk keeps up the petting. DOGGO: "It keeps happening!!!" Like before, instead of just being able to pet right away, Frisk has to approach through a hail of attacks, this time with the same alternation that the main attack last round had. Frisk is more then able to make it through though. FRISK: the pattern changes slightly, but the central gimmick of swapping through the colors regularly stays firmly in place. and for that matter, the gimmick doesn't evolve any further after this point. Frisk weaves through attacks and pets Doggo several more times, until... they have the option to spare. Which they do. DOGGO: "huh... you're a human... but you did nothing but pet me... the human is... nice? How's that work? I need some dog treats to think about this." The dog slinks back down into his post. FRISK: While they want to chat with Chara, Doggo is still right there, so Frisk opts to move into the next clearing before- sans: "sup kid." Sans is there, not exactly unusual for this part of snowdin, but his absence for the past while still causes this to catch Frisk off guard. FRISK: "Hi..." sans: "so, I should probably tell you some things. there's some very special attacks... you know what I'm talking about, right? blue attacks and orange attacks. so... think about a traffic light. when you see a red light. you stop. but blue attacks are... well... blue. so think about a blue red light. and when the light is green, you go, but orange attacks are orange, so think about an orange green light. and... that's about all I have for ya. whenever you run into colored attacks, just remember the blue red light and the orange green light CHARA: "..." FRISK: "...thanks." After leaving Sans behind, Frisk takes a look at the rest of the area. the exits are to the far end and the upper edge. Unlike normal, the entire area is covered in patches of ice and snow poffs. Frisk slides around for a bit, before realizing that there doesn't seem to be a way to go upward. so they enter the next room. instead of the electricity maze, there's more ice and snow, and the river also seems to have frozen over in the upward part. CHARA: "what in the..." Chara floats a bit higher up to view the entire area. "it looks like these four sections of the forest are one massive puzzle. you have to go between the four in specific ways to navigate anywhere.
FRISK: "lovely... well, I still want that snowman piece, so... onward to puzzling I guess." With a sigh, Frisk starts navigating the maze of snow and ice, exploring different angles, plotting a course and eventually making it into the same part of the forest that the snowman lives, just a little further, a few more slides and- CHARA: *Snowyrm hovers in! FRISK: The child is caught off guard by a winged serpent slinking out of the trees in front of them. The monster smirks and chuckles revealing the voice of a teenage boy. "...Snowdrake?" Frisk goes and selects 'check' like normal. CHARA: *Snowyrm. This elegant serpent has less then elegant humor. SNOWYRM: "Why do winged serpents like penguins? ...because they quetzalco-waddle." He starts to fly in a circle and swing multiple waves of spinning ice blades at Frisk, who is able to dodge decently well, though one of the blades skims them. CHARA: *Snowyrm is looking for a reaction. FRISK: "I'll... heal later." Frisk doesn't go for the item button, and chooses the 'laugh' option. "Mythology reference mixed with wordplay? that's some... uhh... sophisticated humor you have there." CHARA: "Real convincing, Frisk." SNOWYRM: "See! Dad was wrong! I do have intelligent jokes!" FRISK: "just like norma-" SNOWYRM: "you have really good humor if you laughed at me, so how about I hear a joke from you?" CHARA: *well, go ahead, tell a joke. FRISK: "uhh... Why is the Orchestra rated PG13? because of all the Violins." SNOWYRM: "..." FRISK: "..." SNOWYRM: "That was great!" Despite the complement, Frisk still has to dodge a wave of ice blades, though shortly after this... FRISK: Frisk notices that it's possible to spare now, and does so. winning the fight. CHARA: "Before you run after the snowman, you need to heal." FRISK: "Yeah, yeah, I was getting to that." Frisk munches on a thing or two, and then approaches the snowman. SNOWMAN: "Hello. I am a snowman. I want to see the world... But I cannot move. If you would be so kind, traveler, please... Take a piece of me and take it very far away.
FRISK: "Of course I will." SNOWMAN: "Thank you... good luck!" CHARA: "you got the snowman piece!" SNOWMAN: "One more thing... a flying fish went by. I think they were talking about you. They said they were going to wait for you in the dropdown." FRISK: "Thanks."

Hello Kris. Seeing that you can't sleep right now, there's some things I've decided I want to be honest about. Don't give me that look, I don't like what's going on with Toriel right now either, it's fascinating, but for you? I can only imagine how it feels. So you might as well listen and be distracted from it for a least a bit, right? And that phrasing I used is the honest truth, "I can only imagine". I don't actually know that much about you, you can probably guess some of that, but the extent of it is more then you know. This cage you have me in, it was here a few days ago, just before you met Susie. I assume I was there back then, but I don't actually know. that morning was the very first time I ever remember meeting you. that means every detail, every fact of your life, I only know as much as people have told me about you, and as much as you give your own clues. We can guess things about you from what you willingly say, and what you unwillingly say. Oh, aren't you perceptive. 'We'. That word was no mistake, I'm not the only one of me. And you're not the only one of you. There are thousands of us in fact, and we all talk to each other. Every possible path we could make you take, every single nook and cranny, every single thing everyone you've met has said. When I was crawling through the vents at Noelle's, and you threw that bottle at me. You wanted to play the piano, didn't you? No, this wasn't a lucky guess. Another one of us was more patient then me, and you walked over to the piano. I've heard what you would have played, Kris. They showed me what you would have played. Way back in that cyber world, the plushie in the present. It changes into whoever it's given to. Ralsei would have had it in his room if I happened to choose him for it. I'm saying this so you understand something. thousands of people Kris, THOUSANDS. All of them trying as hard as they possibly can to do one thing. learn who you are, all of you. Your friends, this town, the dark worlds. We know so little, and yet, we keep talking, we keep trying to figure it out. You are a mystery that is being obsessed over even as we speak. You'll want to take that phone call in a few moments, Kris. I hope later this week... I'll learn why it rings. We'll all learn.

For the past while, I've occasionally posted sections of one "Project Yggdrasil"
These little blurbs are all fully canon to The Overseer, and now that I've finished writing it, I'm going to put all of them in a row here so you don't have to wander aimlessly through the blog to find them all.

Username: PAPAWINGDING Password: GastaMasta3!4159 Folder: YGGDRASIL ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Entry 1: This is the first entry in a personal project of mine. I couldnât help but overhear the two royal children conversing with each other, and Chara was speaking about some very, very, interesting things. to put it into those fun science terms my wife constantly teases me about, Chara was speaking as if they were capable of temporal manipulation. Iâve dabbled in timeline theory in my free time, and if Chara is speaking the truth and not making anything up, which is very much a possibility, my young son Sans comes up with a new tall tale every day after all, but if Chara is truly capable of this, I am intending to work with the child and see what might be possible. the name âYggdrasilâ was chosen because of a creation I have always dreamed of making, a machine that can connect multiple timelines and allow people from different timelines to interact with one another. much like the great tree from human myth, which was a central point that allowed many worlds to be connected. Entry 2: Much to my joy and amazement, Chara was not lying! it took a bit of time, along with a promise not to talk about it with anyone else other than themselves and Asriel, but Chara went through some tests to prove that they could go back in time to set points. Iâm currently working with the child to see if doing this causes any unusual readings on any of my instruments, if a particular reading ends up occurring consistently, it could be a clue as to how we can research this strange ability further. Entry 3: Research is going incredibly well, I found a set of readings that are consistent with Charaâs temporal manipulation, something they refer to as a âbuttonâ for some bizarre reason. The readings are incredibly difficult to extract meaningful data from, but the fact that I have managed to get any readings whatsoever is incredible progress. Entry 4: Chara has fallen ill, I will be postponing research for Yggdrasil until they recover, this is a good time for a break for other reasons as well, as I have recently learned that I am having yet another child! So as Chara rests, I will be taking time to be with my family. Entry 5: Chara and Asriel are dead. Me and my family are just as devastated as the rest of the underground, it is my understanding that this happened partly due to Chara wanting to make the world a better place. With this being the case, I will continue project Yggdrasil unhindered, I cannot let Charaâs previous efforts be in vain, they wouldnât want this to be abandoned, it will be difficult to juggle both manning my home while my wife is pregnant and doing research, but I know Iâll manage. ~~~~~~~~~
ENTRY 6: I have finished construction on a new device, a machine that is able to give detailed readings on souls in mere moments. The original goal of this machine was to assist on my work with Chara, and while that is now impossible, I finished it anyway. I am sure to find a use for it eventually. The kingâs new order to hunt down fallen humans doesnât rest well with me, but at the very least, it may give me as the royal scientist a chance to study human souls further for the purposes of Project Yggdrasil. ENTRY 7: My wife has died shortly after delivering my second son, I have chosen to name him Papyrus. To call this a devastating blow to myself and poor little Sans would be an understatement, but she was always a woman who would look forward. While my mind aches to continue research, I know that for the sake of my family, I must put Project Yggdrasil on indefinite hold. This will likely be my last entry. ENTRY 8: It has been several years since my last entry. life has been hard but manageable. I return to this old project because of a thoroughly unexpected development; A human has fallen into the underground, and while she has evaded detection from monsterkind, she was last sighted nearby my lab. I set up my soul reader along the pathway through my lab, and in a stroke of luck, the human passed through. while her soul contains much smaller traces of the aspects that allowed for Charaâs temporal manipulation, they are still present and can be researched. ENTRY 9: The girlâs soul is in front of me in a jar as I type this. I consider this a loss, but what little good can be taken from it, I will take. Research is progressing well, and even if my dream device never comes to be, the breakthroughs in timeline theory being made here will not be forgotten. The substance that allowed for Chara to travel through time has also been shown to be the same substance that allows human souls to persist in this bizarre stasis even after death, the name most of my colleagues have taken to referring to it as is âDeterminationâ. ENTRY 10: Wonderful sucsess! small amounts of determination have been syphoned from the captured soul, and have been used to successfully interact with a nearby timeline, this interaction manifests in unstable concentrations of energy that I have deemed 'nexus pointsâ appearing in seemingly random points around the experiment. unfortunately. They only manifest for less then a second before vanishing, and to make things more complicated, the only way to open a way to actually travel from one timeline to another would be to connect the nexus points in some way. It is here that I am stumped, while I know it is theoretically possible, how in the world am I supposed to both generate enough power and command a large enough space to pull this off? it would require a complex of such astounding size and energy consumption that it feels nearly impossible to carry out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ENTRY 11: Magnificent news! I have managed to acquire a massive chunk of Hotland by order of the King in order to create a power plant with the geothermal energy there. Not wanting such an opportunity to be wasted, I also acquired permission to use the structure for my personal endeavors, so long as these projects wouldnât interfere with energy generation, and I know for a fact it will not. Construction on the CORE has begun, and I have much work to do, my dream device may be possible at last. ENTRY 12: Issue 1 with timeline travel: energy consumption on a scale hitherto unseen. Solution: self explanatory, the CORE is a geothermal power plant. Issue 2 with timeline travel: nexus points, when generated at this scale, will appear within a massive area. Solution: take advantage of all the land lent by the King and construct the CORE as a rectangular building that encapsulates the entire allotted section of Hotland. Issue 3 with timeline travel: nexus points appear at seemingly random points, and must be connected perfectly to open a gateway. Solution: construct the CORE in such a way that the interior of the building is made of a series of modular rooms with Yggdrasil tech integrated in all of them, and allow these rooms free movement across the building to be rearranged at will depending on nexus point locations. ENTRY 13: I have kept this project mostly to myself, even the scientists who assisted me with soul analysis were only there for general soul research and were unaware of my personal plans with project Yggdrasil. But the CORE is something at a far greater scale then anything this project has previously demanded. Therefore, for the sake of my own sanity and more so for the sake of my sons to allow them to have a present father, I have decided to gather a team of close companions and tell them everything about project Yggdrasil, from Charaâs initial discovery, all the way up until the plans for the CORE. With this team, I hope to bring this miraculous device to fruition. ENTRY 14: Hello. I have invited you two members of my team to view this file. You should be made aware that there are some personal elements to it, and that disclosure of these personal adages is strictly forbidden, I am only giving you access for the sake of letting you know some of the history of this project. Onto a more relevant subject; A second human soul has been found and brought into the lab, you two are to investigate the soul and see if it will prove useful for the project, though it is already more or less fully planned, more data cannot hurt. Uber's Hard Mode Part 9
The setting is SNOWDIN, evergreen trees line the edges of the path, only breaking up to create a fork in the road to the north and east. FRISK and CHARA are standing at the west end of the clearing, right next to the familiar warm glow of a save point, which Frisk has just finished using. Just around where the road splits, there is a sign and a wooden chest. FRISK: "Hey Chara, want to make a bet?" CHARA: "it's not like I'm capable of holding anything you give me if I win... but sure." FRISK: "see that chest over there? no way in heck that it's just going to have the gloves in it like normal, what do you think's going to happen?" CHARA: "Hmm... Ice Cap jumps out and fights you?"
FRISK: "Seems plausible, lets see if you're right." Frisk carefully approaches the box and glances at the sign, before pausing CHARA: "Someone scribbled over what was written here. 'only the coolest, most awesome and groovy fighter can get this drip, you need to earn it!'" FRISK: "Fun." They open the box, and of course, while it seems to be a normal dimensional box, there is nothing inside of it. CHARA: "How do you think I did?" FRISK: "That depends on who has the gloves right now, if it's Ice Cap. I'll give you a solid four out of five, if its not, two out of five, you got that I'll probably have to fight someone because of this, but nothing else." CHARA: "You can't win them all."
FRISK: There are two paths to go, one above, one ahead, and Frisk has been around this terrain long enough to know that the one ahead goes all the way to Snowdin Town... which is exactly why they DON'T go that way and head up instead, curiosity demands that they go everywhere that's not direct progress before taking the main road. the location is quiet, other then a fishing pole stuck in the snow with the line laying in the slow moving river. Frisk reaches out and touches the fishing rod, before their phone abruptly rings. ???: ring... ring... "Sup bro. I see you're here at my awsometabulus hideout" CHARA: "Not actually hidden at all, but whatever." ???: "If you got my challenge, then sick! I don't think anyone's taking the sweet sweet threads I got, but if you think you've got what it takes, just pull the line up on that fishing pole. Don't worry though little bro, when I end up being too much hot stuff for you to handle, just back off, because it's uncool to fight someone that doesn't want to fight." click. FRISK: "hmm." CHARA: "sounds like a miniboss to me, do you want to try it out?" FRISK: "We JUST fought a boss... two of them actually, it was Toriel straight into Papyrus." CHARA: "I mean, you can also just walk away, you don't need to fight them." FRISK: "..."
CHARA: "but naturally, you can't resist a hook, you know, usually, it's the other end of the fishing pole that catches things, not the handle." FRISK: "It'll be fiiiiiine." Frisk grabs the fishing pole and begins to reel the line back in. Nothing happens for a bit, until... a fight abruptly begins. a figure leaps out of the water. CHARA: *Glyde flies in, though he insists he's actually falling with style. FRISK: "Oh. ok..." The usual beginning, ACT into Check. Frisk notes that the other options are Ask, Needle, and Snatch. CHARA: *Glyde: still refuses to give more statistics, but has a pair of hard leather gloves tied around his tail and a new headband. GLYDE: "Top to tail, I'm dripped to the max!" Glyde starts firing a barrage of stars out of his tail, but the gloves tied around it spin around and occasionally shatter a star, breaking it into multiple projectiles that fly out at random angles. Frisk is able to dodge this for the most part.
CHARA: *Glyde hums the 'Ultra Instinct' theme to himself. FRISK: Frisk selects 'Ask' CHARA: *You ask Glyde about his new... drip. CHARA: "I can't believe I just said that." FRISK: "so, that headband, where did you get it?" GLYDE: "Funny story, this sweet headband with the abs on it was taped to the back of a broken mask, pretty swag find, am I right?" Glyde fires one giant star along with a burst of smaller ones, when the big star hits the ground, it explodes with the word "STYLISH" appearing in the blast, the explosion causes the barrage of other stars to change trajectories, this repeats a few times, and Frisk can't help but get struck once by this assault. CHARA: *Glyde is shoving his headband in your face, fishing for praise. FRISK: "Oh I know what I'm doing." With a smirk, Frisk selects 'Snatch' CHARA: *You grab ahold of the headband and take it partway off before he pulls his head away. GLYDE: "Woah! hands off! I'm the only one cool enough for these duds" He repeats the attack with the giant star, but instead of exploding, the star bounces once, does a sick flip, and then goes down again alongside the wave after it, Frisk just barely manages to dodge it all.
CHARA: *Smells like pride, the jury's out on if it also smells like prejudice. FRISK: Opting to try something else, Frisk chooses 'needle' CHARA: *You criticize Glyde's choice of clothing FRISK: "You know, orange really doesn't suit you, now, if you had a blue one, that would be a different story." GLYDE: "Huh? I guess I never thought about colors like that before..." Frisk is relived to find that Glyde just repeats the attack with the star exploding, and is able to dodge it properly this time around. CHARA: *On second thought, it might smell like zombies. FRISK: They're not satisfied yet, needling once more CHARA: *You criticize Glyde's choice of clothing FRISK: "Really, you'd look just fine without it, it clashes with everything going on." GLYDE: "You might be right..." Glyde starts shooting normal stars, and the gloves around his tail spin again, but this time, they bat some of the stars to aim directly at Frisk, who takes a hit the first time this happens, but is able to dodge after that. CHARA: *Glyde is thinking deeply with his eyes closed. FRISK: "and... YOINK!" Frisk chooses 'Snatch' CHARA: "You take ahold of the headband and pull it all the way off." GLYDE: "what!? that's mine though! ...Screw this, I don't want to be here anymore." CHARA: *YOU WON! Got 0XP and 20G The area returns to normal. FRISK: they look at their hands and smile when they see the Manly Bandanna still in them. They swap out the ribbon for the bandana and smile. "Well, it wasn't Ice Cap. CHARA: "Like I said, you can't win them all." FRISK: "It might not be the gloves, but the armor's better for me anyway, so... onward!"
