Our first blooming Morning Glory emerged this morning to greet the sun. Soon our garden will be overrun with these gorgeous flowers! There almost seems to be light coming from inside the flower itself, this photo is un-edited.

Going into the March, I was hoping for the best. St. Louis protesters did not disappoint. The rally point was a mile from the front gate of Monsanto's world headquarters here in St. Louis. A spirited group of a hundred or so were meeting up, making signs up to the last minute for a 1:00pm march and protest. Even when the rain came down in earnest just as the marchers' exodus from Stacy Park - the rally cries were going full volume:

Hey Hey, Ho Ho, GMO has Got to GO! What do we want? LABELLING! When do we want it? NOW!

It was incredibly energizing to behold hundreds and more lined up for over a half mile on both sides of the roadway as I unloaded my carpool. I was grateful to have the opportunity to serve some who were not up for a mile walk on wet grass with my Prius taxi service. Even a cold steady rain did not dampen the spirits of anti-GMO activists - all having keen awareness of what is at stake, and why we should shout out for Monsanto to STOP government corruption, and corporate control of food systems domestically and around the world!

I wanted to walk the length of the protest, as it was hard to tell just how far the action lined Olive Blvd from the gate area. I bumped into Cindy Sheehan right there at the gate, and got to remind her how much I've appreciated her actions with Code Pink and how she's stood hard and fast against the illegal wars of choice America has instigated and prosecuted over the past two decades. I got to hug her and tell her that, had she been in my congressional district in California, she would have had my vote over Nancy Pelosi any and every day!

One thing that stands out for me at this protest. Everyone was very up and aware on the issues: GMO patents - Round Up ready seed and chemical poisons that match - A legacy of producing toxic chemical weapons and poison for our government's use overseas and domestically - a list of grievances as long as your arm. Young families with babes in arms, elder citizens in walkers, spirited youth - the one thing they all had in common besides awareness and clever, original signs - was a big smile! Maybe it was for the camera - but truly, it was a joy and inspiration to me personally to see such peaceful yet cohesive camaraderie here in my home town. I've seen a lot of protests. The police here were simply fantastic. Their function was simply as traffic cops. No protesters were hassled. The police were actually protective of us. Safety was all they wanted. They were very much appreciated in fact as road conditions were pretty nasty.

After a full hour and a half in the rain people began filtering and thinning in ranks. I took a pass through the line in my car before heading home fully energized...

I hope to hear back and connect with these people! I gave out some Peacemonger cards, and know we remain connected in spirit!

March Against Monsanto - May 25th, 2013 - My experience so far:

I bumped into Cindy Sheehan here in St. Louis' March Against Monsanto, which worked out great since I've wanted to give her a hug for years now!

Cindy held my Good Sign for a photo - and so we crossed each other's paths like ice skaters in the rain, hundreds of protesters all getting along quite nicely. Considering the weather, there were quite a few of us out there getting wet, holding our signs, chanting here and there, all taking pictures of each other and doing an awful lot of smiling. Here's my short experience of this, the first of many protests against the evils of Monsanto to come, and my take on the aftermath as I see it. But first, a few more pictures! Peacemonger loves peaceful protesters!

Another BEAUTIFUL day in central California. The garden gets a little bigger everyday. I LOVE our new camera, its great at getting close ups. Like this last one. The properties of water amaze me, it holds in such perfect spheres. But as soon as an external force intervenes, it can no longer hold its shape.

Some more pictures from Peacemonger garden. Our good ole' succulents are booming. That plant has been here longer then Phoenix! And a Baby Rose just beginning to bloom. These are just the plants that survived the winter, we need to get our plant on for the summer!

Peacemonger's garden returning to life! These morning glories are really getting their summer growth on, and it's still spring. Can you believe that rose bush is 2 years old? It likes to hibernate through the winter and wake up for the spring and summer =)

Our new photography studio! Multiple backdrop colors, two adjustable photography lights with umbrellas, and our new Cannon Rebel camera. We love getting new toys and can't wait to play with them!

Adam Carolla and Bill O’reilly discuss the Boston bombing, and the pertinence of the car that was high-jacked by the alleged bomber, having a “Coexist” bumper sticker. Now the image shown here is a different version of the design. What do you think? Would the car have been less likely to be high-jacked if the sticker had read “Insured by: Smith and Wesson”? Do you really think the suspect actually took the time to read the bumper stickers on the car before attempting to commandeer the vehicle?
