ok requests have got me thinking upon some gobb plot stuff again and i simply must know from fellow gobbheads: do we think banban actually doesn't remember flumbo or the hide and seek game or do we think he's deliberately concealing his intentions

i def read it as him being sneaky at first especially bc his tone of voice is really suss but he also doesn't remember anything about syringeon experimenting on him from around the same time (gobb 0 era), and he is very strongly established to have memory issues in general so imo it's not completely out of the question

he does have a few lines that seem to be implying that yes he does still remember and is just lying ("it's been a while," "i'm here to pick up an old friend of mine," "it's time to go, old friend") but idk part of me doesn't want to discount the alternative because like. what if he didn't remember, and then syringeon said "okay we need this guy so we can replace parts of you" and when banban expressed confusion syringeon was like "oh yeah it's just your replacement that you locked in a closet years ago" and banban had to have a moment of being like "oh god i guess i did that, shit"

idk i def have a tendency to overthink lore shit like this but banban is such a closed-off inscrutable character; nevertheless it seems like he's kind of been not so on board with being the bad guy as of recent times, considering how much he goes out of his way to try and help you after gobb 3 and literally is ready to sacrifice himself at the end of gobb 6 so you can escape (even if he didn't end up dying); he's overall a pretty passive character in gobb 8 as well it seems, he just sorta follows syringeon around and joylessly supports his efforts from the sidelines; curious to know what everyone else's read has been on this point though LOL
